I've long been interested in how to help girls pick their names based on the brand they are looking to put out there. Lots of research on popular names for regions, socioeconomic status, race, etc. Look at Freakonomics and Steven and Stephen's research on the topic. Stripper names and provider names have more overlap than they should, I've noticed. You can say you're a classy broad, well educated, perfect arm candy for business dinners, etc. but if your name sounds like a B-rate pornstar, you're just working against yourself. Then again, I'm the one that named myself Jennsifer Lollipop, so what the hell do I know?

Global marketing is something I know a bit about. Branding of a HO name should be something the girl puts some thought into. SallyofAustin is just fucking lazy & doesn't show any creativity or effort. You need something punchy. And if you can add in a visual "logo" like you attempt to do with the lollipop, so much the better. (Although I'll admit I too thought it was a pepper).

Lots of girls look like they used the "ToYz Wheel of Hooker Names" to come up with their moniker...

I like the little facebook programs that let you "pick your Hoogar name" by choosing one name from three columns...

We should design our own naming convention for ATX Hoogar Names...

Even design badges (like MiMis badge) or icons that the girl wants to represent her...

OK, sorry...rambling now...but it would be fun to rename everyone using logic+their online personality+their reviews....some possibilities...

Eh...well, no one really sits us down to talk about branding the first week that we sign up to be an escort. The "this is how to determine rates (long term/short term), this is how you screen, this is what acronyms mean, do you mind greek, do you own 15 washcloths, can I put it in you yet" conversations come first. You can change it whenever you want, sure, but that can be confusing if done too often and the price of too many name changes is the assumption that you're trying to cover something up.

THAT being said, you can tell thought is put into some names...even the ones that fall flat, even the ones that make you say "oh god...wtf? WHY?" I know I'd rebrand myself if I hadn't kept up a good reputation with this name, but the results wouldn't be all that interesting. Common upperclass white girl name from the year I was born + common Western last name...because, well, I'm pretty damn white and although I'm not the sort to prance around in furs and diamonds, I like to think that I'm on the classier end of the spectrum. (Although class, like many things, is less likely to be present the more a person's gotta mention it, ya know?)
