				 STD Risk

It may seem paranoid, but after hearing my SO warn my sons about the risks of even "safe"sex I am reluctant to go uncovered bbbj or do covered FS in the hobby. Could someone give me some perspective on the std risks involved with condom use such as, what if the condom breaks during intercourse or skin on skin contact uncovered by the condom. ok to pm

If she has open sores in the mouth (aka. outbreaks), very highly she can pass it on to you via BBBJ. If she has genital STDs and the condom breaks during intercourse, she can pass it on to you. Remember that HIV can lay dormant for weeks or years after initial exposure, meaning the infected person does not show any symptoms, she still can pass it on to you. IMHO I don't think BBBJ or uncovered sex are worth the risks of getting STDs, especially HIV. If you're planning to hobby, I recommend you use condoms every time (no matter how gorgeous and "healthy" looking she is) and get tested for STDs at least once or twice a year. Wish you luck!

Ask your doctor. You really wanna trust other people who's field of occupation isn't in the medical field.

Realize that it may be embarrassing to ask your SO to repeat the birds and bees lecture. So, assuming your sons are in high school and not college, could you sit in on their sex ed class?

Did you worry about this when you were single, Steve? Depending on how many partners you've had, and how many the lady has had, the risk is probably not much more or less than it would be in the non-Hobby world if you weren't monogamous and were a fairly randy dude.
I actually think that relations with a REPUTABLE provider/escort/companion would be safer than the half-drunk girl you pick up at the bar. We ladies know that our livelihoods depends on our health and hygiene, so we tend to take extra precautions and be more diligent about check-ups than most non-providers.

There is always going to be a risk. You have to decide how much is acceptable.

As far as BBBJ goes, the risk of contracting HIV is low. (Stomach and mouth acids are inhospitable. Oral AND kissing should be avoided after dental work.) For more info see:

Wow, that jumping to conclusions thing can be brutal. I once had a young man, a college student, call me up one eve and cuss me out. I had entertained him a couple of days earlier, and he now had a dime-sized red spot that was turning into what appeared to be a blister. He didn't have it when I visited him, I knew that I didn't have an STD, I tried to tell him to stay calm and that there were many things that could cause a skin reaction, but he was beyond reasoning. (The words "disease-ridden whore" came up.Quote:

(And I, of course, had to cancel all my danged appointments and make an appointment with my doctor to be on the safe side.) Twelve hours and a trip to the campus physician later he called back, embarrassed as Hell. Turns out he had met a girl at a party the night after me, and they had DRY-HUMPED in their jeans for God knows how long. He had a friction blister, and the doctor had a good laugh.
I was not smiling. He had the gall to ask me if I would see him again.
Yeah.... That experience was one of the reasons I stopped accepting appointments from gentlemen under 30 unless they presented a really good argument. Most young men have no patience, and little in the way of logical thinking under stress.

I am just joking. If offensive, please accept my apology in advance...

A come-back could have been, "That's disease-ridden courtesan (companion, etc.) to you, buddy!"

To quote Pyraminder, I see a lot of porn downloading in your future.
Life is an inherently risky thing. Having sex-- protected or unprotected is probably one of the least riskiest things you can do. Take a good look at the statistics which are based on controls and other scientific methodology. The chances of getting an STD really aren't that statistically significant. Of course, using a condom will reduce the chances even further. Personally, my rule of thumb is chanced of getting anything from a BBBJ are about the same as getting struck by lightning. If she offers the BBBJ, I'm there. As for anything else, using a condom makes the most sense. Only you can decide if the risk is worth taking to go BB. Most of us don't or only do so under very special circumstances. As for the condom breaking, don't be so OCD. That is very rare and the fact you are even covered somewhat is in your favor. Like I said before, if you have to ask questions like this, then downloading porn is your best bet.
