Best hobby phone

I am looking for advice on what is the best hobby phone to get that cannot be traced back to me. Thank you very much.

Tracfone works just fine.

A basic one with a year's service is right around what you'd pay for a half-hour session with a reliable/reputable provider.

They also have smartphones, Android, I believe. I may upgrade to one of those in the future.

If you are serious about that, do not use Google Voice, or any other service/app that uses your real-world phone, as it self-evidently connects to your RW phone. And therefore can be traced back to you.

why anyone would say, "dude, DO a search" puzzles me, it seems just like seeing someone lost in the grocery store and they stop and tell the person if they need help, go ask someone who works there.

Just get a separate phone for hobby use. Any phone is traceable. Don't y'all watch 48 hours?? They get copies of texts and calls from the prepaid phones just as easily.

Go to walmart or target or where ever and purchase a tacphone with cash. A cheap flip phone can be had for 15-20 bucks, if you want to be super cheap wait for one to go on sale and it will be 5-10. Buy minutes while there (with cash of course).

Go to a library or any other public computer and set up the tracphone with a fake name, fake everything. Or set it right up on the phone without a public computer. Continue to purchase minutes via cash at gas stations, walmart, target, where ever. Rinse and repeat, when you think you need a change or want to toss the phone, toss it.

If you really paranoid (the above is pretty paranoid) soak the phone in a glass of coke then toss it in a McDonald's trash can or something. Get a new phone repeat process.

just got a tracphone. Since I'm not overly concerned w someone searching my cc bill, paid for the phone & 200 min card w my cc at a grocery store i go to frequently. phone has a 2x feature, so 200 min card turned it into a 400 min phone. Activated it using my RW phone. If you're concerned w keeping it separate from your RW identity, pay cash for phone & mins and activate using some other phone.

it's a 1G phone so surfing web will be sloooooooow. I'll use my 4g phone for that.

also I'm not concerned about someone finding it - will only keep ph#s and txts prior to a consulting session. if that's a concern for you, dont get another phone. Perhaps use a diff SIM card.
