I hear that! And don't worry about others assuming you're judgmental about it. There's a difference between being judgmental and just concerned for yourself and your safety. It's kind of human nature, in my opinion, to jump to conclusions make assumptions and judge one another. What matters is stopping yourself and reminding yourself that while you may not agree with what someone is doing, you don't know why they do what they do.
Some people, growing up or living around these issues in cities whether it be Buffalo, Rochester or any other city, it doesn't shock them. So just as you have a hard time understanding it's presence and those that don't seem bothered by it, others have a hard time understanding why you're so shocked - because as you said you grew up in the middle of nowhere. The world is a funny place like that, and people are funny as well...to say the least.

It's no rock trisha, I grew up playing sports and had/wanted nothing to do with it at all. And than when I joined the military same way, didt want to jeopardize my career for that and this did same while I've been in. So don't worry you aren't alone in being naive when it comes to pt issues as the like
