This is assuming your accent is either Hispanic or Middle Eastern. While there may be grammar and slang differences I've never heard of an Afro American accent.

I have absolutely NO problem with Middle Eastern clients. I have a screening issue with a guy who just joined, with a Middle Eastern accent, asking to see me. And now here he is, beating his chest.

I've not exactly been quiet on all of the Kingman threads - I've probably egged this guy on, and now he wants revenge, and maybe that makes me a little paranoid and a LOT more careful, especially since I'm newbie friendly. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with race. Jesus.

That's pretty much what I said isn't it? The parties referred to "Accent" not certain Afro American Speak which would be grammar and slang. They are distinctly different so it does indeed matter which was referred to.

Interesting. When alerts pop up against white males, you don't see providers starting Non-Caucasian policies or implementing stringent screening policies against Caucasians...

I wonder why.

Edit: Nothing against Claire, it is just something we, as providers, need to think about before get on these race issues and think that, by generalizing, we are making anyone safer.

Also Kingman has been anything but rational in his behavior. Anyone who would continue to rip off providers knowing that everyone knows his RW identity is not someone who is going to be rational in choosing his victims.

My feeling is that this is not Kingman but then again I don't have to schedule BCD with him either.

Let's say Claire ignored her instincts and blindly scheduled with him.

Let's say something very unfortunate went down.

She would be getting reamed on the board for not screening strongly enough as a veteran provider.

Why would any provider have to defend herself when it is a personal safety concern? Her history shows she is no bigot.

But just as there are clients that take offense at ladies having a policy by which they do NOT see certain groups of potential males..... there are those that will contact you and tell you that THEY will not see YOU because you DO see those certain groups?

"YOU" simply being a provider.... not any particular provider....

It's a bit of a "lose-lose" situation I would think....

A provider can and should protect herself for sure. But making statements like "You might rob me"?
You could have kept that part to yourself.

Claire did you initially explain to the guy what had been going on and why you were suspicious? Otherwise you can at least admit if you had been careful with your words and informed fbsm07 of the recent climate, he would have understood you are not prejudice and this thread would most likely not have started.

I don't understand why discussions which might not be exactly be dinner party chatter are considered hectic. The only two where were hectic were you and the lady you were booking with (Claire I'm assuming).

These discussions need to be had and are very informative.
If you didn't want us to discuss what's happened here you and Claire could have reached this conclusion like the grown-ups that you are. You to had a miscommunication and we can all learn from this.
