All this talk is BS. It reminds me of having to try and impress to get into a ladies pants. We are here for one thing and that is pleasure and company. Unfortunately, we have to pay for it here. So everyone get off your key boards and put your fingers and hands where they need to be all over that hooger and then the cash. Be Happy!!!!!!!!

Damn Woman.... Get out of my head!
With respect, and as a pro wordsmith and rhetorician myself, there are likely less than a handful of people even know what a logical fallacy is
or cares
and there is little ' persuading ' when it comes to this board. A provider finds her niche or target audience (and believe me that typically had nothing to do with her proficiency in English.) and the punters find that which appeals to them and the exchange is the passing of a few bills, thrusts and grunts.
Is much as I love intellectually roundhouse kicking RockerRicks dick into the dirt ( he knows I adore him anyway ) this is a tawdry fungible market economy, not the hallowed marble halls of the School of Socrates. Unfortunate but true.
You may find the prose here vulgar and wish you could change or elevate it. It is a noble sentiment to be sure. But RR is right. If you're not contributing this may not be the place for intellectual grandstanding. Find some providers who's company you enjoy, write a few truthful reviews to the best of your considerable diction and people will be much more apt to read what you have to say otherwise.

Rousseau,
I agree with you that a lot of false assumptions continue to be bandied about here.
I would also agree that it is not completely irrelevant to do as you are proposing.
For instance, I find it humorous that the majority of these people do not know the real reason they are here: to sell ad-hits for the owners of eccie
Many of you also believe google and television is free.

Considering the environment we're in, along with the apparent intent, I'd like to suggest that in the future we refer to these types of things as "Phallacies".

Who's Centaur?
I would argue that there's a lot of persuasion going on here. For example, I'm being actively pressured into posting a review, even though my understanding is that they are voluntary. And I don't respond well to peer pressure ... it's counterproductive actually.
I much prefer the not so subtle hints from the gals in PM's. They may not be overtly persuasive, but the effect is powerful.
And I had no intention of elevating anyone's vulgar prose. That would be a hopeless cause. Mostly just trying to find out if there are any kindred spirits, and the results have been encouraging.
I hadn't expected this level of thoughtful response to my first ECCIE thread. Thanks for the responses. I doubt if this type of discourse changes anyone's opinions, but maybe we get a better idea why we feel the way that we do.
Oh, and Socrates? You mean that guy who only hung around the hallowed halls so he could corrupt the local youth? Not my style. I prefer the Sophists and the Stoics, but whatever floats your boats.

This is definitely not Centaur. Centaur was more akin to Rainman. He used words to obfuscate his lack of viable points. This is not that. I like this guy.

Nope. Not Centaur.
Ah, I should have added Chelsea to the list of Those Who Know the Fallacies. I forget since you so rarely bless the Austin thread with your brilliant discourse.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach spelling.

I didn't spell anything incorrectly. I know because I was all, I KNOW Toyz just didn't call me out on spelling, and I double checked . Is this about the space between rain and man? Space between rain and man. Should be a space, need a space, there's no space, need space, there's 1,456,7834 spaces in the phone book, yes, yes.
