It will probably be either Bush or Clinton. What's funny is thinking we have a say in the matter.........lol

Problem with Trump is that he's shown his hand too far. Meaning he's 'too right' wing and that's a problem in the race to the top. - He created a guaranteed percentage to follow him but then he ended up losing another side completely. I feel the same way about Sanders too, he's another character that's "extreme left" who gained a big side but completely lost the other. In the big race long term you need 'pieces' of each sides to win.

the Republicans' problem has been gathering those "pieces" to try and win.. Bob Dole, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney.. and, God forbid, Jeb Bush, should he somehow emerge and garner major support.. the shift toward the middle has not worked.. they need a bold candidate who doesn't pander to the middle.. like Reagan.

I think Trump's decision to skip tomorrow's debate will not hurt him.. the school playground analysts have jumped in to say he's afraid of a woman (Meg Kelly), or how will he deal with World Leaders when he's "afraid" he isn't treated fairly.

but in reality, Fox News needs Trump for ratings, all the candidates have already debated a number of times.. nothing new to say, except dump on Trump, which they will do tomorrow, and no real policy issues will come forth.. meanwhile Trump will be several blocks away holding a Veteran's meeting that will get equal or more coverage than the debate.. the News people have nothing to talk about, but Trump.. he is super smart, and playing them like a fiddle.. if Fox is serious about holding a debate for the people of Iowa, they will begin the program saying Trump decided not to attend, and leave it there.. don't mention his name again.. but they won't.. they can't.. Trump is everything they have to talk about, he will dominate the debate even while he is not there.

Trump has served his purpose; now it's time for his graceful exit stage right.

If, however, he reverts to form he will head off to stage left.

It is entertaining listening to him talk. He talks, talks and talks and doesn't say anything. His speaches revolve around:
i'm on top,
I'm rich
Calling other candidates names
I will build a wall
Government is incompetent and
Trust me
With nothing to support his claims. He is nothing more than a shell.

It is sad (and scary) that he has so many followers. Really sad.

I'm sure he's giving the Republican establishment nightmares now too...a creature of their own making.

Unlikely, Trump is believing his own hype at this point. He may well under-perform in Iowa but he's up big in New Hampshire and South Carolina, and a lot of states in Feb and March that are receptive to his message. If he's not stopped early by a credible alternative, his momentum could carry him to the nomination.

The alternative ain't Cruz either. Americans don't elect the fringes of either party as POTUS, why we never had a President Goldwater or President McGovern.
