I think the ban was well deserved for the particular person in this case as others have agreed with, and yes some don't agree with. Its a shame a really good poster fell for the trap and got banned for making a mistake but the intent of the op was there without a shadow of a doubt as stated in post 47

You really think a guy who is so obsessed with this site that he posts about 4 thousand times a year is going to take that chance on purpose? No way.

He did somethings stupid and when it was pointed out to him that what he did was stupid only then did he start to meekly try to claim that he willingly took a chance. When you post 29 thousand times in that span you are bound to do something stupid. It was like it was a personal challenge to him to see how how high he could get his post count and that was his reason to be here. But the post that got him into trouble was an eye opening and important post. I do want to thank him for that.

Oh well. I guess for the next year it will be about 3990 less posts we have to skip through to get to anything worthwhile.
