I hope not. Their intern coach is wining more than Miles was. Looks like he was the one holding them back. I know we have been horrible on the road but we should beat Texas tech and Kansas on the road. WV will be tough here at home and TCU has slipped quit a bit. I think he we can take 3 of the 4. That will get him 7-5 and he wins his bowl game. 8 wins and he lives another year.

Baylor is overhyped like Texas was. At the end, theyll be an 8-4 team. Don't forget the tech/ou game from a few weeks ago. The tech qb threw for over 700 yds and ran for a lot in a loss.

They need a proven coach with a seasoned record. Chuck had only been a l'ville and Herman at Houston. I think it would be nice to get a nfl coach. The ravens coach contract is up this year.

If we change coaches, I hope we look to the NFL. We a coach that can tell everyone to I am the coach, I will call you if I need help. Charlie has not produced, but he was not wanted by the big donors. He started at a disadvantage and has not helped himself. I personally think he is a great person, this may not be the best fit.

My big fear is that Texas will become Nebraska and spend the next 20 years starting every season with: "We're Back!" only to finish 7-5 annually. I'm just not convinced Strong is the right coach for the job. It's hard for me to tell how much progress Texas in making. We've won the last 2 weeks but not against quality teams and really, the entire Big 12 is down. Here's an interesting article about our coaching history. \http://www.hookem.com/story/texas-hi...g-will-return/

The good news for Texas is they are a young team with some really good talent. The question is how much that talent will develop in the next 1-2 years. Take the UTEP game out and they've given up 47, 50, 49,45, 6 (to Iowa State that is 0-6 in conference), 24, 34, 37 points. Offense should be great with their running game and young QB and receivers. Defense must get better.

Coach Strong is a great guy, but not the man to lead us back to greatness.

We need a young, up and coming genius with limitless energy and total dedication to Texas winning, not matter the effect on his personal life.

Is Fred still alive...LOL..

I have heard this BS of they are a young team with a lot of talent for 3 years now. Reality is, they need a new head coach. I'm not a UT fan but come on, UT deserves better than this head coach.

Hell, Strong was their last choice and the only one available at the time. Any other top five of ten team would have already made changes.

I guess the fans will carry the young and talented team to the grave.

Just saying

Its just bc hes the first black head coach. He was in a less expected conference at Louisville. Here, he is expected to win especially with that salary.

I hope Charlie wins the next 2. It's a shame Foreman's great year is going to be forgotten on this average team. What a great back!

I agree about Foreman. If he played for Alabama he would probably be the #2 choice for the Heisman. I haven't been a big fan of Strong but unless he loses to Kansas I think he should be given a 3rd year and a chance to show what he can do when the players he recruited become juniors and seniors. It's really hard and takes some luck to hire a good head coach. Notre Dame has been trying for 20 years to replace Lou Holtz and have had only modest results. USC and LSU stumbled into finding good head coaches but only by shear luck. If Texas can win the next two and a bowl game they can sell that momentum to the next recruiting class. Next year though, it will be time for Charlie to put up or shut up and hit the road.

In chucks three years only one consistent thing has been prevalent: IF

Personally I am hoping for a kansas win or close and tcu win (look at the baylor score) so we can get rid of chuckiee broken promises. Remember after season 1, he said he wouldn't ever have another 5 loss team? I guess he cant count.

Overall texas shouldn't have gone with the last available when he was hired. This thread is pretty useless unless one of you have buildings named after you it doesnt matter what we think.

Foreman is good in the big 12 but if he were in a conference that played defense it would be a different story. Who watched lsu v alabama? That was defense and why he will be a 3/4 round pick.
