Trump doesn't want his kids to clearance because they're his kids. He wants the clearances because he trusts them. He's going to be President. Deal with it.

But EVERYBODY "trusts" their family.
If that is some kind of exception to the rule against nepotism, then the exception will swallow the rule, right?
We look down on nepotism despite the fact that leaders trust their family. We don't excuse it because they do.

You, too, shit head?
I was never on my knees in front of IFFY. And he is only glad to see someone on their knees in front of him if they are a family member.

Ted was elected to the Senate in 1962, and had enjoyed a highly distinguished career till his death in 2009. He had spent many years as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, hence his top-secret security clearances credential is undoubtedly legit. Therefore from the facts alone, I have to state, with all due respect, that you have completely failed to make your case here.

The Kennedy's were the textbook definition of nepotism.

the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.

And I don't have a problem with RFK being AG, at all. He got J. Edgar all riled up and I like that. What I have a problem with the the hypocritical nature of the current attacks on the President-Elect when there is nothing different today between the two scenarios, except for this little thing;
Federal law, at 5 U.S.C. § 3110 went into effect January 7, 2011
Quote:
Federal law, at 5 U.S.C. § 3110, generally prohibits a federal official, including a Member of Congress, from appointing, promoting, or recommending for appointment or promotion any “relative” of the official to any agency or department over which the official exercises authority or control. The statute defines a relative, for these purposes, as "an individual who is related to the public official as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, or half sister."
|
It wasn't law in the Kennedy era, it is now. My point was that it's nothing new, been widely practiced at all levels of government forever. And the Democrat President generally regarded as the best ever was the biggest visible user of it.
Now....Teddy had a "highly distinguished career"?
I have to state with due respect, when Teddy left Miss Kopechne to die in that car, didn't attempt a rescue, didn't call for help, didn't stick around for the authorities, and then left the scene of the accident for hours...that nullified and tarnished any future distinguishment that he ever achieved.
Different opinions make the world go round.

Keep looking for reasons to hate Trump. This one is going nowhere. I'd rather have his son, Eric Trump as head of the CIA than the dipshit he appointed. I live in Pompeo's district. He's a statist idiot.

First in his class at West Point, Harvard Law degree... yeah, I can see why you don't like him... anyone smarter than you has to be dismissed as a "statist"!
Ex-CIA director Michael Hayden (a Pittsburgh native) has endorsed Pompeo and that's good enough for me.

He is for unlimited surveillance and indefinite detention. I can see why you support him. Besides, I have spoken to him on several occasions. He's an idiot, and a danger to freedom. You should do your own research and quit relying on others for your opinions.
