I don't know if it's the holiday, the fact that Hillary lost, that people rejected Obama's personal plea for his legacy, or that he is finally go on permanent vacation but Obama has told many of us to go fuck ourselves. Obama issued an executive directive that the U.S. will not be allowed to search for oil in the arctic circle but not the rest of the world. So much for energy independence... Obama has removed a tool that can be used to protect us from terrorism by removing a law that could be used to require young Muslim men coming into this country to register. Now Trump will have to start from scratch wasting time and energy. Finally Obama betrayed his Jewish supporters by NOT vetoing a U.N. resolution condemning Israeli for building settlements in their own territory (yes, taken in a war). Four decades of support sold out by a nose picking gutter punk on his well deserved way out.

I don't want to tempt fate here (with less than a month to go), but given the invincibility conferred by Obama's race, my overriding sense is that we got off relatively easy. I remember coming to work on that dark Wednesday morning in November 2008, and hearing the AA shift leader lady get on the PA system to favor the plant with an old [forbidden word] spiritual. Chills shot repeatedly up my hardworking honky spine--and not in a good way.

November 2008 I was working in a major Army administrative center. Just past security was the "Chain of Command Wall" with pictures of everyone important from the senior enlisted, commanding officers, secretary of defense and finally the President.

The DAY AFTER the election, Bush's picture had been replaced. Despite military protocols and normal distancing from politics, it remained there. I wonder if Trump's picture is already up?
