The hobby should never be your main source of income. It should always be for "extra". Imo

Are you assuming that just because a lady is a provider, she does not have any other obligations such as family, children, school or any other type of employment that holds her to her home?

We are all struggling at this time but have no choice other than putting on our big girl panties and getting to work rebuilding our lives.

Rebuilding will be easier if what little available hobby dollars being spent in the city are allowed to remain in the city. Our ladies need to work and you can easily go to another city to make your money.

Gentlemen, please give the local gals priority when you hobby in the near future.

We are Houston Strong and we will rebuild TOGETHER.

how many of you are displaced ? if we have the list may be we can help. Please make sure to exclude the LPMOW's of Houston.

But traveling providers will probably never read this thread.

And honestly, if a lady is traveling into a hurricane ravaged destination out of all the places in the United States she can go to...she may not be the sharpest tool in the shed.

 I wouldn't worry about it.
 |
Exactly. Between displaced hobbiests, providers, lack of hotel rooms, neighborhoods under water and hobby funds going towards storm damage this isn't exactly the best city to tour now. As for us hobbiests it wouldn't surprise me if many ladies left for other cities until this settles down.

I think in times like this we need all the pussy we can get. In fact, FEMA should be flying in pussy for just that reason.

You can't really compare contracting to providing. People are receiving insurance money, etc. to have there homes repaired. I am pretty sure none of you are receiving any type or insurance or federal funds to support your hobby income. The money will dry up and ladies will be hurting, especially those that lost everything. The will be many contractors that will make a mint off this disaster. I know roofers that earned a fortune after Katrina. There will be no ladies making a mint here. None.
I am truly disgusted by the attitude of several gentlemen on this board after this hurricane. I know it's usually par for the course on this board to play the game of who can be the biggest misogynistic pig and be as hateful as women as possible and you guys pat each other on the backs for this, but I guess I thought in this natural disaster that some of you could put that type of pettiness aside.

I have seen it posted that we can just leave the city, that we don't pay any taxes, don't deserve any type assistance or deserve any sort of help whatsoever. Those are only a few of the comments that come to mind. There are more. How truly heartless can you be?

We are people too. This has been a disaster of EPIC proportions. If there was ever a time to have sympathy for your fellow human beings, this may be it. Yes, newsflash, the ladies here are also human beings.

And I realize that there men here who have also lost everything or are dealing with consequences of this storm and you have my deepest condolences. I hope everyone can get past this and life gets back to normal as soon as possible.

No one deserved this or expected this to happen and the course of many people's lives will be altered. If you can't bring it your heart to be helpful, can't you at least be kind?

I also give my thanks to the few gentlemen who have come on this board on offered help, even though they were ridiculed by others on here. They were able to look past the fact that the ladies here are providers and were able to recognize that we are all human beings, and we all deserve kindness.

I think it's time for me to take a break from this board for a while. I am in awe at the lack of compassion displayed here, in multiple threads on this subject.

When trauma hits emotions tend to run to the surface of people. I find comfort in volunteering, if it paid well I would do it full time. I, personally, get more out of volunteering than I can put in. I have contributed money, clothing, dog food, soap/shampoo, and my sweat to the cause. Everyone does what they can, when they can. Some cannot due to their particular situation. Sometimes it's good to step back take some deep breaths ... and smile.

			THANK YOU CURVYKATIE!
You've done a much better job of articulating the point I was trying to make. I'm exhausted from cleaning storm damage and don't have enough time to explain trickle down economics to some of these fools.

 Shop Local & Buy American

These phrases are a part of the fabric of our country for a reason! Keeping local money local is the foundation of every Chamber of Commerce in existence. It's not that hard to understand folks!

To the ladies who've expressed their gratitude for the post, I appreciate your support.
