Shyster Jon is an attorney. Shyster Jon is also an old man who likes to take advantage of barely legals. He's in this thread for a reason. This is a 3 for 1 young whore deal for him. Why wouldn't he jump all over this?

What good attorney gives away free legal advice on a whore board? I unfortunately have to work with many attorneys. They sure the fuck are too busy to hang out in here to offer free legal advice like SJ.

People often make the mistake of thinking that because someone is an attorney means that they are intelligent and competent. No, that just means they went to law school and passed the bar exam. We're not going to get Racehorse Haynes, (may he rest in peace) in here with plenty of free time to answer questions from whores and tricks. Instead, you get a guy like SJ who is at best a public defender and probably not worth a fuck despite his assertions that claim otherwise.

Although Harris County doesn't have a "Public Defender" office like the Feds do, but they are interviewed, screened, and qualified as to their experience in the "class of cases" for which they are to be appointed by the Judge to whom they are assigned.

Most of them have a lot of earned gray hair.

Lucas, SJ is a criminal defense attorney, not a public defender. He gets paid by his clients, not the county. Crim defense is a tough job and I wouldn't do it for any amount of money. I like representing the little guy getting screwed by the Man cause you're always on the right side. Whether SJ is a good c.d. atty or not is an open question. I always look for a Martindale Hubble rating of AV when I make atty recs for friends and family. Without that, it's a crapshoot. If he's AV rated, he's a badass. If not, he's a question mark.

I just read LL's post. Woah! You're saying Harris County has no salaried public defenders? But I bet they have an army of salaried DAs, Assnt DAs, and investigators! Now I know why Harris County has more executions than any other county in the country! lol. (Full disclosure: I'm against the death penalty. It's way outdated imo.)

If that's the case, then maybe SJ can address whether he has ever moonlighted as a Public Defender.

Geez. What do you think a public defender does? Maybe criminal defense? Is something wrong with you? Many firms have lawyers who outsource as both public defenders who are subsidized by the state and who work "in house" as well. Either way, the firm gets paid, but they just are paid more by a private client as opposed to receiving compensation from the state for legal counsel.
