If a provider requires a $20 deposit it looks kinda sketchy bc it indicates a high no show rate and poor screening. I have no doubt that even the best providers have been stood up but $20 down tends to lend itself to drama

Heh... I know plenty of long time successful providers that require far more than that as a deposit. Its the result of men who love to "fantasy book" a lady coming to town and then never show.

I agree. Any LOCAL providers who require a deposit, any amount, lack the screening skills and other necessary how to tools to know who she is setting appointments with, maybe wanting a guarantee that a guy will show or that she gets at least something for talking to a guy she otherwise would not have anything to do with. It also means that provider's initial contact to appointment set ratio is going to be few and far between, especially when she tells a potential client who did not know better, he has to pay anything upfront.
Because life happens, getting stood up is the cost of doing business in the hobby, for both the ladies and the men.

I don’t know how the cash apps work and I don’t care. I just think transferring money electronically exposes the hobbyist to the risk of loosing annomonity. If a hobbyist does not use a hobby phone he’s setting himself up for all sorts of potential problems. The same holds true for money transfers.
The concept of a $20 deposit is utterly rediculous. If a reputable provider is sick of no shows I don’t have to agree but I can see her point of charging a larger deposit as her time is valuable. $20 says time is not worth very much

I agree 100%. What Grace said is true, but what you are saying is also true.
$20 is just weird to me. If there is a highly sought after lady who has a waiting list, then I can see her requiring a 25-50% deposit to hold your spot and avoid last minute cancellations. I agree with you that NCNS are largely avoided by making a good match to begin with, not by creating an electronic paper trail for $20.

I will never pay a deposit. Why in the world would I send money before even meeting someone, who if is requiring a deposit is probably a total stranger to me?
If a guy no shows, blast them, blacklist them, by all means put it out there that they are a time waster.
To each their own though. Doesn’t bother me, if you require a deposit I’ll move along and go spend time with another beauty.
Plenty of lovely ladies out there to spend time with.

Some of you are misinterpreting the reasoning of this post. It wasn't about the amount. It was about me sending a provider a deposit before she was on her way and me not hearing from her after I finally sent it. I don't care if it's $1. I would of still made the post. In my eyes it was worth posting 4 hours after our convo because who's to say she was doing it to someone else or 10 other dudes on here at once. A few hours after the post she either saw the post or contacted me before seeing the post. Either way it was resolved and she sent the $20 back. If post could be deleted, I would of deleted it. I will never send a deposit to a provider ever again. Lesson Learned.

You definitely did the right thing, as she did in fact go on to rip-off other guys. Thank you!

If you think deposits are weird or have anything to do with a provider's lack of screening, you couldn't be more wrong.
Even a "verified" and veteran hobbyists can provide a false address or cancel last minute while you're already on the freeway just for shits and giggles. Doesn't mean a provider should waste her time and gas money/Uber fare for no reason. You don't go to a bank and get a debit card without first paying $25 to have an account opened. You don't go to a TMobile and ask for a Galaxy S10 and a line without first paying $100-300 to get it started. You can't drive a BMW off the lot with $0 down claiming you're gonna pay in 30days. You have deposits for everything for a reason.
It's definitely stupid to rip someone off for $20 when you could've gotten to $200 but hey not all providers are smart lol.
Just send the deposit next time through PayPal as goods &services so if something flaky happens you can get a refund. It's simple.

So that’s a 60$ rip off, a 40$ rip off, and a 20$ rip off.
She shouldn’t rip anyone off the next time a 0$ rip off.
Who wants to test my theory of this thief?

Actually I know a lot of providers that are talk to your providers and they only see you guys that send a deposit because that shows that there are seriously interested in seeing them and that the chances of them flaking or canceling the appointment is very slim because they already have money invested. I for one am considering to start charging deposits myself because I get guys there call and text me from Monday all the way until Thursday and then the day of the appointment Friday they choose to cancel because of some meeting or something came up or something with the family this is a business do you think it’s fair that I block my schedule out for a particular client only for them the schedule and I get nothing in return that’s bad for business.
No I totally get what the point and the gist Of things but at the end of the day this is a supply and demand industry she was wrong for excepting your deposit and not following through with a date I’m glad to hear that she corrected the issue!

I hear a lot of excuses about creating paper trails and losing their Discretion but at the same time that’s still just an excuse if you ask me my clients provide their deposits on Walmart Visa cards that way when they buy them at Walmart it says that they made a purchase and it shows up on the credit or debit card as a Walmart purchase and I can cash out the visa debit card at a later time which is more work on my end but at least I’m being flexible
