Where did you find a quote in which he said he was "backing down"?
And I'm not talking about those who attempt to read his mind and interpret what he "really meant to say." I'm talking about Trump actually saying: "Im backing down" .... or "I've decided not to authorize a strike against Iran!"
May be you understand sports better: A "timeout" is not "backing down"!

"President Trump approved military strikes against Iran in retaliation for downing an American surveillance drone, but pulled back from launching them on Thursday night after a day of escalating tensions."
"Pulled Back" is the same thing as backing down. A "timeout"??? Seriously man that's pathetic, just admit it, your boy backed down. Iran made a fool out of America get over it. It will happen again.
