I don't think you're doing anything wrong or being a bad influence on your kids. Just use good judgement and common sense and I think you'll have few problems.

Thanks. I just tell them not to tell their mother because she would lose it with me if she knew I didn't make them wear their masks and gloves. She's a reasonable and intelligent person, but she is a little overboard with this virus in my opinion.

I certainly respect the severity of this virus, but I'm not going to live in fear and I don't want my kids to do so either. They can around her. They won't around me... I do make them practice social distancing but they can leave the masks and gloves at home when we leave the house. They hate wearing that shit and I probably would as well if I wore a mask and gloves everyday when I went out in public.

I realize this virus can put me down. But I won't be living that paranoid lifestyle regardless of the fact that I know about the potential consequences of my careless behavior. That's just not me and I don't want that fear for my kids either.

As long as your kids don't slip and tell your wife you don't require them to wear a mask you'll get by.

In all seriousness, it's just my youngest that may tell her mother. She likes to tell on her brothers to me so I wouldn't be surprised if she told on me to her mother. Whatever, I pay all the fucking bills. I'll do what I want with my children. If my ex doesn't like it, tough shit. She can start paying all the bills and I will do whatever she wants if she wants that financial responsibility. Until then, I will let my little ones be loose and free when they are around me.

Lol, Prison Rules that's pretty funny. I'll just give you a theory that has circulated and it's one that may possibly be what the future has in store. First the idea that people should wear masks in public is to instill the idea that this virus is very contagious and is easy to catch by just being casually out and about. Secondly, Social Distancing also trains us to lessen our contacts with each other. That by itself is contrary to us as social beings. As humans we are social animals we like congregating and socializing with one another. We gravitate towards those we have things in common with, for instance you see someone who has a car you like you might compliment him or her on their car and that may strike up a conversation we do that because that's the way we are wired. By Social Distancing we are cut off by that trait and many people will abandoned the need to socialize even strangers for a mere moment. For a lack of a better term the "Powers that be" don't want us to socialize freely as we are generally inclined to do. That's also the reason they are urging or I guess even requiring businesses to reduce capacity. although the virus may exist and people have fallen ill from it it's also being used as a tool to psychologically program us all to think differently about our health and social venues and our attitudes about one another. That I believe is the basic intent. If I am wrong so what. In fact, I hope I am.

I don't disagree with your assessment. Although I certainly realize this world is not the same, I just try to keep my world the same as stupid as that sounds. I also try to do the same for my kids. They only have one childhood. I want them to enjoy every minute of it when they are around me regardless of this virus. My ex and I have different opinions. That's fine. But when they are in my care, her opinion matters not to me. They won't be wearing gloves and masks around me. Period. They will be the kids who they are and they won't live in fear. I respect how cautious she is, but I'm not so there is why we have a conundrum. I'm just not where she is at.
