So here's the irony. The invasion of the capital was REAL, some here even admit as being wrong. There were documented threats to both Pelosi and Pences's lives. Judging by espoused philosophies, I presume most of the Trumpists here would present a " Locked and Loaded" response. Castle Doctrine, Stand Your Ground, etc. Hypocritical to blame someone subject to a potential threat for wanting security when one is safe in their basement typing on a keyboard.

I never said their weren't allowed to defend themselves, that's a right given to them by their creator. I said I was just sad that we got that close to a rope party and it didn't happen.

Humans are self-aware. We can choose to suffer, and reduce our own comfort and safety, to assist someone we are not related to. Humans demonstrate kindness, compassion, empathy, and hatred.
I know of no other species equal to humans in this regard.
