The wapoff piece uses raw numbers, which is not reality. There are relatively few police as compared to the number of blacks. There are less than 1 million cops, as compared to ~45 million black people, so any statistical comparison would need to increase the number of cop deaths by a factor of 45. They didn’t do this so their point is moot.

Not that that’s the actual point though. What is the point is that the entire ‘police murdering blacks left and right’ is a myth, yet it is repeated ad nauseam to rile up the black community. They may be over represented in crime and incarceration statistics, but that’s because they’re over represented in committing crimes. It’s not rocket science, truly. IMO bad, and/or a complete lack thereof, parenting is the root cause of the problem

I think people are insinuating that this increase in attacks on police is being caused by the BLM movement, which I don't think there's any quantitative data on, but is a valid hypothesis.

I have a recommendation .... if a law enforcement officer approaches you for whatever reason .... don't threaten them, either intentionally or otherwise ... with any object or your fists or feet ... and if one feels like they simply must do so ... then for everyone's sack just walk out onto the busy freeway and stand in front of the next semi running the speed limit or little better.

It will be upsetting to the truck driver, but the headlines and news coverage will be buried, if even covered. And even more importantly it won't ruin another employed person's life and livelihood like it customarily does.

For those of you who whine about officers using deadly force to stop an attack on the officer or others you don't know what the law of self-defense or defense of others is in that locality and your disdain for LE is blinding you from reality. As an aside, you can rest assured that the politicians bloviating about "police brutality" in the media either have taxpayer funded LE guarding them at ALL TIMES and/or armed private security paid by the taxpayers through approved funding by the appropriate body in that jurisdiction. There are more police officers targeted and murdered by blacks, Then blacks UNJUSTIFIABLY killed by police officers.



Example: Michael Brown attacked a police officer and tried to take his weapon. He never had his hands up, he never said don’t shoot, he continued to attack the police officer. Despite the world-wide lie promoted by CBS (twice in the last month) BLM and people like congresswoman Cori Bush, Michael Brown got what he asked for.


Several years later, during George Floyd riots A retired St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department captain was shot and murdered early Tuesday morning while protecting a friend's pawn shop from looters.


The looters filmed the murder as Dorn lay in the street begging for his life.
