HF.....first off, the distinction between was and is is simply a matter of what time in history we’re talking about. Was refers to when the constitution and Bill of rights were drawn up, is refers to now. Nothing tough to comprehend.
Omar, the black, female, Muslim congresswoman in your example has the right to be just that. Does she have the legal right to marry the person of her choice, whether that choice is male or female or engage in private activities that would be considered vice crimes by a moral based public? Does she get paid in equal terms to her male counterparts?
And the right to walk naked or piss or defecate in public is an all or nothing twist, what one chooses to do in privacy is clearly limited once the setting is public, having rights and freedoms does not mean a free-for-all do whatever you want to do when you want to, but thanks for the spin.
Yes, Holland has a red light district and 50 plus countries have legalized prostitution, what places in the USA have legalized prostitution besides a few counties in Nevada? Where are the red light districts in the big cities all across this “free country”. ??? So when is this “great country” gonna get the balls to price match freedoms that other countries and a few states have and let a then truly free citizenry to decide what’s right for their own lives?
You’re looking at the constitution as some great work of art when there were blatant and obvious discriminations present from the very beginning that were drawn up by a bunch of racist, sexist cigar smoking chauvinist pigs, members of the good ole boys network, the males only club who went to church for an hour to make a social impression, then went home, beat the slaves and maybe the wife if she didn’t STFU and do what she’s told. ( ok, they learned a lot in church that day) Great bunch of guys, let the women vote in 1920 when they should have had the right from the very fucking start. (Frankly, voting is overrated on a national level considering the fact that the country is 28 trillion dollars in debt and the only solution on the books is to vote another batch of losers in to kick that can way down the road. Maybe you can explain to the kids and grandkids that that number can be just voted down to zero. Great plan!)
As far as the 27 amendments, once you get past the overbearing and overreaching right to religious freedom, and the physical rights like the right to bear arms, voting, court and jail stuff......the later amendments deal with people in the government and presidents who die, most countries protocol is to bury the dude in an elaborate ceremony and then find another dude to take his place. Hardly groundbreaking territory. The 18th and 21st amendments were needless, a free country wouldn’t have outlawed liquor in the first place so the repeal would have been unnecessary. Oops, another gap in freedom. And then there’s the previously mentioned 19th amendment, which shouldn’t have happened because they should have had the right to vote to begin with, same as white men, from the very start. Tough part of history to claim as ours......sort of embarrassing actually.
As far as my supposed hatred, nah....I just point out what true freedom lovers understand, that the diehard flag wavers overlook. The zealot patriot attitude is the same as these homer fans who get together to watch a football game, one of their players spears a guy under the chin, gets three flags thrown towards him for targeting, the receiver gets carted off on a stretcher, and all the homers hold their hands up in the air in exasperation asking (about the safety who made the hit and got ejected) “what did he do?” Then two plays later a homer player gets a light push and walks out of bounds and the homer fans are all screaming “where’s the flag now?” Numerous needless penalties and poor play but the homers stand around and blame it on the refs that we lost the game. Blind patriotism at its finest. Their team is never wrong, and neither is their country. No hatred, just the facts.

I remember when then President Obama complainined that The Constitution constrains the power of the government, but grants enumerated rights to The People. That was ten years ago.

And that just illustrates want a ginormous cunt Obama is. Our rights aren't granted by the government. They are Natural rights we are born with. The BoR restricts government power because the Founders knew that certain humans cherish nothing more than exerting power over others.
That includes all Democrats and most Republican politicians.

Please tell that to the thousands of clients and providers who use this site and spend their time sneaking around to be able to enjoy their enumerated rights.
Or the sports gamblers making hushed calls to get action on a game. Or the people who want to play poker or smoke a little in the privacy of their own home. Or the people who want to marry the person of their choice but can’t because someone else’s god says they can’t. Could list many more but I wouldn’t want to be called a hatred monger for stating the obvious facts and policy gaps in freedom. Call it more sarcastic with a sprinkle of cynicism.
Obama was full of shit and wasn’t looking at the entire population to make such a shortsighted statement. But then again which politicians don’t make the same reality bankrupt statements?

such a shame to spend life under teh thrall of race-baiter demagogues and Racist DPST policies - inciitng hatred against anyone of a diffeent skin color
SK - you have been indoctrinated into racist, marxist hatred of teh revolutionary Left.
MLK, Jr - People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.
Fear - indoctrinated by haters - causes hatred in teh unenlightened. the propagation of which causes more hatred - to the delight of teh hate-mongers. Hatred is ultimately self-destructive.
may god bless and keep you - SK!

Well good, you understand the concept, you just can't bring yourself to address that 99% of what you talk about, is in the was category and not the is category.
Was refers to when the constitution and Bill of rights were drawn up, is refers to now. Nothing tough to comprehend.
And yet you continue to talk as if nothing has changed, that unless you are a White, Christian, male, you have no rights which is utterly preposterous.
Omar, the black, female, Muslim congresswoman in your example has the right to be just that. Does she have the legal right to marry the person of her choice,
Uh, she married her brother so I think the answer to that question would be YES!
whether that choice is male or female or engage in private activities that would be considered vice crimes by a moral based public?
Homosexual marriage is now recognized in all 50 states or didn't you know that?
Quote:
As of 2015 same-sex marriage is now federally legal in all 50 states due to a ruling from the Supreme Court.
|
And WTF is with this "moral based public" if not a standard recognized through out the modern world, that lack of morality is an anathema to a civilized society? A morality that is decided by a free and fair electorate?
Does she get paid in equal terms to her male counterparts?
Did you just seriously ask that question? Do you think male and female Congress person's get different pay?
https://nwlc.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/lilly_ledbetter_fair_pay_act_o f_2009_01.07.2013.pdf
The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009
And the right to walk naked or piss or defecate in public is an all or nothing twist, what one chooses to do in privacy is clearly limited once the setting is public, having rights and freedoms does not mean a free-for-all do whatever you want to do when you want to, but thanks for the spin.
Which is exactly what you implied when you suggest you be free without constraint from the "moral police" to do what ever you want with those "restrictions" you are so upset about.
Yes, Holland has a red light district and 50 plus countries have legalized prostitution, what places in the USA have legalized prostitution besides a few counties in Nevada?
Any place that doesn't, doesn't because the majority of the citizens have voted against it. That's kinda how a democracy works
Where are the red light districts in the big cities all across this “free country”. ???
You see by free, most people living in a democracy understand that "degree's of freedom" and yes, including Holland as I pointed out, come in the form of freely deciding those degree's. Why you can't seem to understand and accept this is beyond me or should we just leave all such decisions up to you?
So when is this “great country” gonna get the balls to price match freedoms that other countries and a few states have and let a then truly free citizenry to decide what’s right for their own lives?
EVERY ELECTION CYCLE! WHEN THE MAJORITY MAKES THOSE DECISIONS!
You’re looking at the constitution as some great work of art when there were blatant and obvious discriminations present from the very beginning
Acknowledged and amended
that were drawn up by a bunch of racist, sexist cigar smoking chauvinist pigs, members of the good ole boys network, the males only club who went to church for an hour to make a social impression, then went home, beat the slaves and maybe the wife if she didn’t STFU and do what she’s told. ( ok, they learned a lot in church that day) Great bunch of guys, let the women vote in 1920 when they should have had the right from the very fucking start.
And where in the world did that right exist? Where? And please define "from the start".
(Frankly, voting is overrated on a national level
Ah, and your alternative is?
considering the fact that the country is 28 trillion dollars in debt and the only solution on the books is to vote another batch of losers in to kick that can way down the road. Maybe you can explain to the kids and grandkids that that number can be just voted down to zero. Great plan!)
I can explain it to the kids though I'm not sure you have the the capability of understanding this concept. The number can be voted down to zero. It's called a balanced budget amendment and has even been successfully tried. The tool exists, the fact that neither side has any desire to use it right now doesn't mean that it can't be done
As opposed to not finding another dude or dudette by vote of the citizenery? The more you talk, the dumber you get.
Hardly groundbreaking territory.
OK, what would be ground breaking territory? I can hardly wait to hear this answer.
The 18th and 21st amendments were needless, a free country wouldn’t have outlawed liquor in the first place so the repeal would have been unnecessary.
Let me try this one more time though I have no expectation I will succeed with you any more than the last 3 times I tried. A FREE electorate MADE THAT decision and a FREE electorate, repealed it. THAT'S HOW IT WORKS!
Oops, another gap in freedom.
Wow, you are a piece of work. Can you name another place in the world that has never had a "gap" in freedom?
And then there’s the previously mentioned 19th amendment, which shouldn’t have happened because they should have had the right to vote to begin with,
And where in the world did this "right" begin, you know "from the beginning of men and women" and democracy for that matter? Here's a little education for you. We weren't first but we weren't that far behind either.
https://nzhistory.govt.nz/politics/womens-suffrage/world-suffrage-timeline
same as white men, from the very start. Tough part of history to claim as ours......sort of embarrassing actually.
Not embarrassing at all when you look a round and see what the rest of the world was doing. We were late to the party by what 20, 30 years? Or do you believe that men and women were "equal" from the beginning every where but here?
As far as my supposed hatred, nah....I just point out what true freedom lovers understand, that the diehard flag wavers overlook. The zealot patriot attitude is the same as these homer fans who get together to watch a football game,
OH, great, a Homer analogy to explain freedom SMH
one of their players spears a guy under the chin, gets three flags thrown towards him for targeting, the receiver gets carted off on a stretcher, and all the homers hold their hands up in the air in exasperation asking (about the safety who made the hit and got ejected) “what did he do?” Then two plays later a homer player gets a light push and walks out of bounds and the homer fans are all screaming “where’s the flag now?” Numerous needless penalties and poor play but the homers stand around and blame it on the refs that we lost the game. [QUOTE=sexykarma;1062551184]Please tell that to the thousands of clients and providers who use this site and spend their time sneaking around to be able to enjoy their enumerated rights.
Where are these enumerated rights ( our Constitution which gives non enumerated rights to the States ) you speak of. Your right to pay for sex? List by statute please. Certainly not saying we shouldn't have such a right, just saying that to my knowledge, it is not enumerated in the Constitution but hey, prove me wrong. I guess if they can find abortion in the right to privacy, they ought to be able to find paying for sex and yet.......
Or the sports gamblers making hushed calls to get action on a game. Or the people who want to play poker or smoke a little in the privacy of their own home.
Who can't play poker or smoke in their own home? Please cite these two laws?
Or the people who want to marry the person of their choice but can’t because someone else’s god says they can’t.
Still don't understand the latest SC ruling I see. No wonder you don't know what you are talking about, you don't listen or read the news.
Could list many more
I'm sure you could, all as inaccurate as the ones you've named so far.
but I wouldn’t want to be called a hatred monger for stating the obvious facts and policy gaps in freedom.
Little late for that, that horse has already left the barn.
Call it more sarcastic with a sprinkle of cynicism.
Oh, your a cynic alright, I'll give you that but your sarcasm needs a lot of work to be effective.

as for the cigar chomping chauvinist pigs, you can thank the native indigenous peoples of America for their contribution of tobacco to the world.

ah, do you understand the thinking of that time from the start? women had very few rights and were treated as "property" so to speak. that was every where on Earth.
that thinking took a long time to erode to the point where it became acceptable for women to be independent and be able to vote.

you realize it was anti-booze coalition of women were pushing for alcohol abolition. now that is vulva power! lol.
regarding the 19th amendment, it was republicans who pushed for it, democrats were opposed to it.
Embarrassing? no. its called evolution of thinking. Cultures change when people inside it change.

I’m hardly racist or Marxist by any standards, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now if the founders of this country had a true open mind towards freedom and didn’t let racism, sexism, and all kinds of discriminations and morality concerns influence their ability to create a doctrine that was truly fair to all citizens, from the very start of that document being adopted as the official rulebook.

So I’m a racist for pushing for equal treatment of races, I’m a racist for pointing out the obvious discriminatory practices allowed by the constitution. I’m a racist for pointing out the pigs who talked freedom out of one side of their mouth and slavery out of the other side.
And I suppose I’m sexist for talking about equal pay for equal work and legalizing the right to vote for women from the start of the constitution.
This country would be a hell of a lot more free and equal with more people thinking like me than the pigs who founded this country, or the religious right or moral majority who carry on the pigs tradition by telling everyone else how to live their lives.
So if I’m racist then by all means explain to me what your definition of racist is.
