The field is secure means that the Taliban is outside but a perimeter is held. All the Afghans on the field are (one would hope) Visa holders awaiting transport. They are all swarming the plane because they're primitive goat fcukers that don't understand the danger of getting sucked into a Turbofan or getting crushed by the gear. What are the Pilots supposed to do? Wait until the Apes come out and clear the field?

*Edit - wanted to add, that anyone that has spent time around Moslems understands that they DO NOT understand the concept of the queue. It's just not a thing for them. So yeah, swarming the airfield makes tons of sense to them... just like sitting on the landing gear bay doors or expecting to hold onto an airplane at 30,000 feet and 400 knots...
