October 11, 2021 On Indigenous Peoples’ Day Remember the Indigenous Europeans That Were Conquered and Enslaved by Other Races
Every Columbus Day, we are treated to recycled howls from the left who insist the day be rebranded as Indigenous People’s Day, in honor of the millions of Native Americans displaced, enslaved, or killed during the centuries preceding the discovery of America. We hear terms like “colonialism,” “systemic oppression,” “cultural genocide,” and “stolen land,” thrown around.

Here is a brief list of the European Indigenous Peoples who were victimized by invading armies and migrations, by colonialism, systemic oppression, and cultural genocide, but whose sufferings are rarely if ever acknowledged by the left:

I enjoy ancestral sin. It's a common punishment in places like North Korea, the socialist paradise.

yeah that too

but Columbus' only sin was being like everyone else at the time, indigenous people included

plus being brave enough to do the equivalent of a moon shot in a small wooden boat

Europeans practiced slavery and conquest so we can’t have Columbus Day anymore. Instead we should celebrate Indigenous People, who practiced an even more ruthless form of slavery and conquest.

the Marxist dimocrats in this country don't care about proper historical judgments

they pick and choose who was good and who was bad in history

if truth doesn't fit their desire they teach what they want anyway and pretend they celebrate docile idyllic love makers unmarked by any sort of impurity living in peaceful bliss with charity for all

I'd prefer see Columbus day repealed.
one less federal holiday to deal with.

columubs was a crook, thief, slaver and was responsible for the near extirpation of the Taino island natives.

Lief Ericcson day would be acceptable. the vikings were the first europeans to discover america.

Indians in america were misnamed Indians and it stuck for 600 years.

I think the real Indians are offended that americans are being called indians!

central america already has a term of the indigenous natives, Meso-America. not sure about South America. prolly not.

This topic imo is very complex!
Dilbert gave a small sampling of some of the points that can be made on this subject.

Too right, Nev... That bludger Popovich has been a bleedin' phony for a good while. He really wishes that he could manage Trail-blazers or Timbre-wolfs basketball... Maybe chain the doors at the
police house and set it afire.
I surely barrack for the other side any time his team
is on the court.

Columbus was undocumented and did not use a lawful port of entry. Lefty’s and “indigenous peoples” should’ve loved the guy, gave him government handouts and not tested him and his men for coronavirus.
