He’s close to locking up the nomination for much more than that. Trump is flailing right now, imo. Even at that, Desantis is a much more disciplined and effective politician. If Trump stays on his current path, constantly droning on about 2020, he’ll be in for a big surprise in the primaries. Unfucking Biden’s mess is top priority.

while I think Desantis is trolling to see what political future he has, one has to think, why get into the general election role, when he's got Florida sewn up for the next term. Anyone coming into the role of POTUS is still going to be fighting a turf ware of extremists as representatives and a polarized senate to boot. While I think Ronnie D. is ok with his perspectives and all, he's drawn way too many lines in the sand for both sides to rally behind him. All the talk about woke and disney etc., is where he's made conservatives happy; speaking down to the other side of politics rarely gets you traction when it comes to getting to concensus. I'd prefer someone a little more mainstream, but I suppose his "plain speak" of the commoners and retiree's of sunny florida are appreciated there, but what about the other blue states he's got to win?

When polarizing politics are in play,- there is some real issues with wining general elections.
