Can anyone give any advice on areas to stay in or any areas to stay clear of?
Any advice on the city would be greatly appreciated.

Any hotel downtown is good and any of the brand hotels around Airport Blvd and I65.

I think everyone would love an opportunity to meet up with you.
If you want to go farther out Saraland is a good area too. But downtown is always a solid bet too.
