There is no way America can remain a world power when the past four generations we've raised have been raised to be absolute morons, because it costs money to educate people. And because of capitalism, it isn't profitable right now to educate people to be profitable later

the us spends more money per child for k thru 12 grade than almost every other country in the world

i know you love socialism and have a hard on for capitalism but you probably went to school in oregon, so ill give you a pass

throwing money at the problem isnt solving the problem, its how they teach, its what they teach, you know the curriculum

try listing facts or at least school yourself

I was more referring to children older than K-12. Fact of the matter is, a young adult (meaning, HS graduate or GED) can not get any kind of degree or secondary education without getting locked into debt for the next 20-30 years of their lives. For-profit schools, though they may be giving a good education, are not good for our society as a whole. That's why America is a first world country with the lowest average education.
And, having the government in the schools, trying to change what the teachers are teaching isn't the solution, either. Left or right. The only government that has business in determine what children need to be educated with is a government like China, Russia, or N Korea, where it is less education, more conditioning.

well, this thread is about teaching children grades k thru 12 and how terrible the education system is here in the us. when a state says what it did in the article i posted, this shows how fucked up things are

our kids are graduating and cant fucking read or do math, so if they come out of high school like that, what fucking good is college then?

not to mention, suggesting lowering standards for people of color is actually so very racist. it suggests people of color are born dumber than whites
