It seems that the reality of all this is that Trump lost ground on his chance to end the war and look like a hero. For a few reasons:

1. I see it that Vance fucked Trump sideways in that meeting. It didn’t go off the rails until Vance shot his mouth off.

2. Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize badly….he can’t stand that Obama got one and he has not. If Vance and the pet reporter are not in the room, I bet Trump gets the praise from Zelensky that he wanted and things would have gone fine

3. Trump now has to look at his legacy, as it were…….he needs this Ukraine deal to get that Prize. Vance got in the way by igniting that fight. Watch for Vance to be on probation by the Trump team.

4. Trump also lost ground on keeping the US in the forefront of world politics. What happened is going to strengthen the bond of European nations, in a way that can possibly create a third front of countries aligned against the US…..Russia. China and Europe. Not gonna be easy being isolated from the world in this way.

5. The stock market has been falling ever since Trump took office, a bit at a time. Failing to get Ukraine settled, and creating a third adversary from the Ukraine meeting debacle, will further erode the US Economy as we go forward

My view is that all this came from Vance stupidly opening his mouth. He’s not there, none of the above happens , as Trump would have gotten his praise and the deal would be done.

Watch for Vance to be slowly sidelined, as Trump tried to find a way to get Ukraine settled in a way that makes him looks good.

Yes, Zelenskyy should bring up security concerns, absolutely. He has every right to, but he should have held off until they were in the private meeting before the public signing, not in the open in front of the press. Anything promised and/or conceded in public would have hurt us for future leverage with Putin going forward. If the deal had been signed, then Trump could have gone to Putin with a US/Ukraine agreement in his back pocket. I believe that’s the leverage Trump was looking for with this deal.

So yes, I do think that the US having major economic interests in Ukraine would have kept them safe.

1. I agree, Vance should have kept his fucking mouth shut. If anyone should have spoken up, it should have been Secretary of State Rubio.

2. Dunno about whether Trump gives a shit about receiving a Nobel Peace Prize or not, so I guess I have no opinion.

3. Agree, Vance’s ass should already be sitting in a corner…facing the wall if he isn’t already.

4. Disagree. I believe Trump has gained ground in world politics. This has now forced Europe’s hand to shit or get off the pot when it comes to supporting Ukraine…or not. 5. I think watching the daily/weekly movements of the stock market can be a decent argument, hell I’ve used it myself, but having a bit of a change of heart about that. Yup, you’re right, and I agree Vance fucked up. He’s the junior partner and should have kept his pie hole shut. I’ve got 2 brothers…both older. So I’m the youngest of the 3 boys in my family. Whenever I opened my pie hole during a discussion between us and others…let’s say in the “neighborhood”…my oldest brother would back hand me in the jibs with a stern look. After the discussion was over and my lip stopped bleeding, he would tell me to keep my fucking mouth shut, listen & learn. Although, it wasn’t always my oldest brother, it just depended on who was closest and was in reach lol.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Starmer handles this going forward.
