Hmmmm... WHY wouldn't President Trump "last the year"??
Sounds like a threat.

2nd, you missed the point about the 1st economist. whether he's left or right matters not. what matters is Trump cited him as the basis, among other economists, for the tariffs trump enacted, and he said no way in heck did i say that. truth is Trump pulled his tariff policy out of his ass..

another problem is Trump doesn't know his own end game. Europe was ready to deal on LNG and buying more AG products from our farmers, and he still pulled the trigger. as leverage , sure. as policy? fook no. the 25% of the world economy-us-can't take down the 75% of the world economy-them.

since your link doesn't work whatever point it was supposed to make is unknown. try again.

it does matter what political side the economist Trump cited is. just look at Paul Krugman and Richard Wolfe. both far left socialists who advocate for massive deficit spending, huge government control and actually think you can spend your way out of a recession or depression. nonsense. both are idiots

"your math is blowing me away" .. tony stark

wft does this even mean?

That's a stretch.
Quit looking to sell a violation, when one does not exist.

These same leftists screeching now were silent when Biden tanked the market by near 30%. Their "Black Monday" never materialized. And wonder why nobody listens to leftist "economists".

... Can we give the tariff situation another few days
before we panic? ... No need to be a Panican - be a Realist.
China and The US are gonna come to a compromise.
Understand that the Stock Markets will come back. ... And soon.

... If I wanted to "sell a violation" I'd surely hit the report
triangle button.

... What I wanted was the answer to me question of WHY
the fellow believes President Trump "won't last the year"...
As the tariffs are starting to work.

This kind of haphazard approach has little benefit. It just increases the uncertainty of what Trump will do next. Are the companies considering moving plants to the US now supposed to go on pause ?

Haphazard? Seems well thought out to me. Tax cut ensures the means to replace temporary losses to farmers and such as the economy grows. Defund China's economy forcing them to fall back. Reducing the price oil through deregulation bringing Putin's war machine packing. Win-win-win.

Are they? This is a manufactured problem that Trump wants to “fix” so that he can look like a “negotiator”. Meanwhile the US, no the global economy goes into free fall while he waits for people to kowtow to him so his ego can be stroked.

The man is a liar, grifter, and a cheat. Tariffs are not necessarily a bad thing but only when targeted to fix specific problems.

I’m not sure what the “fruits” are for Trump’s tariffs but my guess is that they will be rotten to the core.

The original post was this: What is the historical record on tariffs bringing fruit?

My guess is probably none but it doesn’t matter anyway if you are trying to make a comparison. Every time I hear from one of our talking heads in the media, on either side, I keep hearing the same phrase. “Unprecedented”. So trying to make a historical comparison to today is a lost cause.

Just think of how cheap everything is going to be...when he drives us into the next depression.

Where did you get that figure ?

During the Biden administration stock markets made something like 40 all time highs.

Many MAGAs became wealthy during the Biden administration....including some MAGAs that post regularly.

Th quote that will haunt Trump: "If Biden is re elected, the markets will crash".

... I can understand some o' that, mate.
But putting the badmouth on Trump ain't the issue.
The fruits of the tariffs are. ... Surely would seem that
a good number o' nations are wanting to negotiate.

So, we're seeing the tariffs already starting to bear fruit. ...

Jesus Salty! You ARE reaching.

Pound that button mate! Hahahahahahahahahaha

Trump won't last the year because he will be ceremonially lynched by his oligarchs and the cunts Johnson and Vance will not be able to keep the troops under control. The House is up for election next year. You think they will be able to withstand a full year of Trump's juvenile game playing? His tariffs are killing the world economy, including yours, lad! He deserves all the blame. If they work (snick)...

Feel free to report that too Salty. Glad I didn't try to insult Australia, mate!

Wait and see... your life savings spiral down the toilet, courtesy of Trump's destructive and entirely self serving tariffs. (He found a toy and he's gonna play with it...)

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
