However, that alone cannot be the immediate, go-to for the bulk of those who think they are someone other than they are. This irreversible approach can never be automatically applied to sub-adults.

One can change a name but not their genetic, chromosomal heritage. This is not hatred or phobia. This is biology and medical art; surgical, hormonal and psychiatric.

And American Society cannot be re-made to cater to the perceived social needs Thes unfortunates at the expense of the rest of us.

I still contend that if a person is of legal age, which in most cases is 18 years, they can do any thing they want to do to their bodies, or claim to be either male or female unless it infringes on some other individuals space. That space includes sports that require certain physical prowess.

However, performing irreversible medical procedures on minors should be considered off limits. Give the body and mind a chance to reach maturity before doing something that might be regrettable in the future.

I think I can agree with about all of that. Katalyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, is an example.

What I find unsupportable is requiring a biological female, of any age, to compete against a biological male in a sporting event. . . .or to share a private or safe space with that person.

Most folk who get plastic surgery do not have a mental health disorder that compels them to have their bodies surgically altered. Some do get OCD about it.

After our daughter-in-law birthed several children, she needed a partial hysterectomy followed by reconstructive procedures associated with abdominal herniation from the last pregnancy.

I do not see how anyone could confuse either cosmetic surgery or medically necessary Ob/Gyn procedures with gender reassignment surgery.
