Sorry for what? Constantly moving the goalposts and being incapable of acknowledging when your arguments are no longer valid and a thread has lost all relevance?

Who's JV?

Keep being vague and moving the goalposts, Gristle. It won't stop me from empirically proving you and tommy wrong. With facts and data. Over and over again.

Aa of this morning, the usual suspects remain at $4.79 and $5.49 respectively which is about 60% higher than they were when Trump and JV started whining.

In other news, a Chicago egg producer is back in business after a 120 day quarantine which is nice to see.
https://wgntv.com/news/south-suburbs...lu-quarantine/

Also on the bird flu front the current data on how infected dairy cows is in with over 1k herds (not heads) infected over 17 states.
https://www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/situati...y/mammals.html

A recent vaccine trial for the bovine population went very well. Would be great if it were in play for the fall.

And circling back, with those other those retail prices I mentioned are right in the ballpark for the national retail avg of $5.12 per dozen as of June 3
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...u/84016215007/

To be clear, if $5.12 is praise worthy then maybe ones standards are set at "gud enuff fah gubmint wahrk" but it'd very apparent there's still piles of work to be done.

The 7 state salmonella outbreak tied to eggs isn't helping. Thanks CA

Exactly. It's really not that hard to understand (or prove), but again, the cult lives in its own little bubble. Out here, in the real world, eggs are more expensive today than they were a year ago. Fact.

C'mon Gristle, you're making this way too easy for me.

No, the national retail avg price of a dozen eggs was NOT $5.12 "as of June 3".

That was the average price for the month of April. It was contained in the April Consumer Price Index report released by the BLS way back on May 13. The CPI data for the month of May will be released next Wednesday, June 11.

So you're way behind the 8-ball. And flat-out wrong. Go back and re-read your own usatoday link (and open the USDA hyperlink).

What's puzzling to me is how you could be this sloppy when I just showed you a FinanceBuzz link (in post #369) putting the average US retail price of a dozen eggs at $3.64 as of May 26th.

This is what I meant when I said I'll keep proving you and tommy empirically WRONG.

As Bam likes to say, "thanks for playing!"

... And, as explained - a year ago American had a different
President on... And WHEN the egg prices SHOT UP and thus
became Very high - that same President was still on.

NOW - there's a new President on - and egg prices dropping.

... FACT.

Except they're not cheaper now. I might as well be talking to a brick wall. I know what I spend today compared to what I spent a year ago. They are more expensive now. Fact.

I'm aware, but this is more fun. You gotta give to get. $3.64 IS ALSO higher than it was when they started complaining about prices.

Never see you speak up when Trump says egg prices fell 400% so every once in awhile I gotta make sure you're paying attention.

And the usual suspects locally are well above that so there's still work to do. Thanks for the bank shot.

Quick. Tell us what you paid for a dozen eggs down to the penny during the 2nd week of April 2021.

We know you tracked it because you told us!

Yeah riiight, Gristle.

You weren't sloppy, you screwed up deliberately, just to see if I'm paying attention.

Good one, thanks for the laugh!

Let's see, wasn't it last September when JD Vance "started complaining about (egg) prices"? According to the BLS, the national average retail cost per dozen was $3.82 at that time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't $3.64 LOWER than $3.82?

Oopsie! Looks like I just caught you in yet ANOTHER LIE! See what happens when you're too lazy to google and check your data?

By the way, trumpy made his crack about egg prices falling by 400% just a couple of days ago. Evidently he impressed you profoundly with his trolling skills. So much so you're now trying to EMULATE him!

Thanks for admitting to everyone that trump is YOUR NEW ROLE MODEL! And good luck trying to keep up with him!

For some reason, you keep flexing in the mirror on this subject. Trust me, you're only impressing yourself, bud. Most people I know pay attention to the prices of items they purchase regularly.

But hey, maybe that explains why you think eggs are cheaper now? When you don't pay attention to how much you're spending, you could have no idea that you're actually paying more now than you were a year ago.

At this point, it's abundantly clear that they're not paying attention. Otherwise, they'd realize that eggs are more expensive now than they were when JV made that stupid grocery store campaign stop.

When anyone wonders why it's been labeled a cult, this thread is a perfect example why. $5.39 is more expensive than $4.59. Ok? Because that's how numbers work. And they're still trying to tell us eggs are cheaper now. Lol. Make it make sense.

... No - he's impressing the rest of us with his flexing
and great knowledge on the issue.

Such-as there are other areas of the country with CHEAPER
egg prices.... America is a big place, mate.

FTFY, tommy.
