riots in Los Angeles use of National Guard
"Trump’s use of National Guard troops has prompted backlash from figures including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who said the deployment violated California’s state sovereignty. Typically, state governors oversee National Guard troops, but Trump has invoked a law to place the troops under federal command so he could bypass Newsom."
"I have formally requested the Trump Administration rescind their unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles county and return them to my command," Newsom wrote on X Sunday. "We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved. This is a serious breach of state sovereignty — inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they’re actually needed."
Here again we see Trump attempting to do a good thing, but abusing his power to do it.

I’ve been in LA since Saturday. Leaving tomorrow. I’ve been downtown to several meetings. The protests are small and very limited. My uber was able to skirt around them by going about 3 blocks out of the way. I went to a club downtown Saturday night and a bar Sunday to watch the game. The riots didn’t even interrupt that.
More lies from Trump and the right wing press about the riots. It’s minimal and the 15000 police in LA have it under control.

Wow. Excellent post, blackman. I have seen multiple media accounts stating the same, that the protests are small and are being well managed by local LE. It's not stopping the disinformation campaign from exaggerating the shit out of this though. Social media is rife with conspiracy theory nonsense and lies. I expect that we will hear some of it very soon.

Here’s what Trump posted on truth social.
—————
A once great American City, Los Angeles, has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals. Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations - But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots. Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for
your attention to this matter
————-
In a giant city of 13 million people how could this possibly be true.
What this is really about is an attempt to justify the use of the military to enforce immigration policy and convincing the public to disregard our laws so that he can more easily deport people without due process.

Troops deployed to LA will cost $134M, Pentagon official says
President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy troops to Los Angeles amid mass deportation protests will likely cost $134 million, the Pentagon’s budget chief told lawmakers.
Acting Pentagon comptroller Bryn MacDonnell, testifying at a House budget hearing on Tuesday alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, said the estimate covers costs such as travel, housing and food.

The “Rioters” were assaulting federal law enforcement officers as these officers were executing warrants for known criminals. The LA police, by their own admission, could not stop it.
Trump sent in the National Guard to protect Federal Law Enforcement Officers.
I like what one ABC Reporter said. “The demonstrators were just having a good time watching cars burn”
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/.../121732418.cms
America is watching. What they hear Gaven Newsome and Karen Bass saying is….”we love our criminals, leave them alone”.
More counties turn Red.

For a change you hve posted a story about the media (from a known source of misinformation) not the protests themselves.
We have ECCIE boots on the ground Jacky, 1blackman1, who has provided eyewitness accounts.
I choose to believe 1bm before Google searching “something shitty about the LA protests, democrats” and linking to the times of India…
This is Tuesday. Old ADDonald will lose interest in California by next week and start fucking with someone else.
Or maybe he’ll stand in front of Mann’s Chinese Theater and hold up a bible or some such stupid shit that he can then put on a T shirt or shoes or a bit meme and y’all can buy it.

I would not want the job ICE is having to do.
What is their basic job......to go around and ask people to show their documentation.......and not get
shot in the process ?

These agents were there to arrest criminals with outstanding warrants. The LA Police Chief told The Federal Government that his officers could not protect them.
I guess the Left now thinks it is legal to assault Law Enforcement Officers while those officers are carrying out legal directives.
As for as your Boots on the Ground Guy, we have no idea who he is, and by ECCIE directives, we are not supposed to know.
He could be Pajama Boy in his mothers basement for all we know.

Right. All of "the Left." All of them. Tens of millions of people. They ALL think it is legal to assault Law Enforcement Officers who are carrying out their duty.
Fortunately, no one on "the Right" supports that...

I would not believe that for a second. You got any proof of that?

Horse shit. It's on the guy who sent them there. That's the same guy who's sending active military into an American city right now, without supplies, housing, equipment... just to harass and bully.
We have seen this before.
Not just in decades past but just a few years ago.
BTW - Jacky, you should pay attention to your fellow monger and try not to be so thin skinned.

... Now, now there, mate.... Don't be so thin-skinned.
Setting cars a-fire and throwing rocks at ICE agents
is just being "caught up in the exuberance of the moment"...
... And the looting and destruction of stores and shoppes
is just another "manufactured by-product" of Trump.
... Los Angeles is a safe haven for everyone - except ICE.
WHY is the National Guard there? ... The prevent lootings
or to protect the rioteers - so they can loot more??
... Blimey! ... Just another "Summer o' Love" in LA. ...

The National Guard and the Marines to save LA from burning to the ground according to Trump... I will not consider this brilliant Operation Trump Save SoCal mission fully executed until Newsom and the LA Mayor are arrested.
I prefer to look at the bright side of round 2 of Trump's comedy incompetent geezer tour at this point. There are only 3 1/2 years of this reality TV shit show airing until it is finally cancelled and not subject to renewal. As long as we don't have a pandemic that RFK Jr. is put in charge of handling, folks will be fine. I say just sit back and enjoy the bad entertainment while it lasts.
I will add that I do feel bad for some of those who will likely be deported in LA from a neighborhood not that far from downtown. When I lived in the financial district, I would frequently go there for some great authentic Mexican food. They never gave me any shit although I can't speak more than 10 words in Spanish, and they could clearly see that I was not Mexican. Regardless, thy were good hard-working people who gave great customer service and always made me and the company I kept feel extremely welcomed at their establishments.
