207,000 deported per DHS #'s released yesterday.

A noticeable uptick, but still behind by quite a bit if they're going to hit the million per year.

This is where the push to deport to 3rd party countries is coming from. And why Carol Mayorga was almost deported until her attorney was able to force a second review of her eligibility for the Deferred Enforcement Departure program.

The case that turned a solidly pro-Trump Missouri town on its head in support of a waitress at Waffle House with a deportation order.

One example of why some Republicans are asking the administration to reign it in a bit and focus on criminals rather than civil infractions

This National Review article provides a solid assessment of a position I strongly agree with.

Is Taco Trump starting to get it. Immigrants, illegal or otherwise are essential workers.

Trump vows changes to immigration crackdown to protect migrant farmers, hotel workers
President Trump said he plans to make changes to his administration's aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration to address worker shortages

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump said he plans to make changes to his administration's aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration to protect migrant farmers, hotel workers and others in the leisure industry who have been among those deported.

Trump promised the changes in a June 12 Truth Social post that acknowledged Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have not only targeted violent criminals, who Trump officials have said are the primary target of raids and deportations.

"Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace," Trump wrote on the social media platform he owns.

As a reminder, terminating TPS doesn't mean deportations necessarily. A voluntary departure isn't a deportation and shouldn't impact the numbers.

Now, those who don't leave could help juice the numbers if it leads to deportation orders. So, we'll have to see how it plays out.

Bonus points if anyone can correctly tell me why Trump admin hasn't surged its immigration judge hiring and has focused on ICE agents and arrests.

If the past week has shown us anything, it’s that President Donald Trump is desperate. He wants to deport 1 million immigrants from this country by the end of his first year in office, a level no modern U.S. president has ever hit. His administration has made it clear they’re more than willing to push the limits of the law to try to make it happen, whether it’s through invoking obscure wartime laws, baselessly revoking people’s visas, or calling in the National Guard against civilian protestors. These acts of desperation are highly unlikely to result in 1 million deportations in 2025, but there’s a bigger reality here: Trump’s deportation targets were always extreme, absurd, and impossible to hit. Even as his administration ramps up attacks on civil society, it seems like Trump himself is beginning to realize this.
