Perhaps the big question is if Israel indicates it wants to kill the senior leadership in Iran, should the US go along with it.

The question is not should the US sanction a regime change in Iran but rather who would take over if there is one? The clergy in Iran under Khamenei control all the levers of power and even if he is removed the Islamic guard will still be there to hold things together.
I have a feeling that the next government will not be any friendlier towards Israel or the west than the current one.
What I do know is that Trump should make it absolutely clear to the Israelis that there will be no scenario in this conflict where we’re going to put troops on the ground.

It's increasingly looking like that may happen, more so today than yesterday when you wrote it. Please come back and remind us if it happens. In which case we'd like some stock market tips too!

Apparently that's already come up with respect to the Supreme Leader, and Trump nixed it,

I agree with TxDot.

The same level of naivety and lack of education that one must have to think surrendering in part to Russia will end the conflict in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. I agree with your assessment.

You do realize you'd get JD Vance as POTUS and whomever he nominates to VP. Plus, Vance gets a head start on making a case for his election in 2028.

Looks like Netty maneuvered Trump into bombing Iran. The real question is would that put us at war with Iran. Or will the Saudis go to war with Iran to force them to fight multiple nations. There’s very little risk to the US though US forces in the Middle East will be at risk. We surely won’t put forces into Iran. And Oil prices are at risk of skyrocketing.

President Trump has said repeatedly for 10 years that Iran would not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.
He has tried reasoning with them. But you cannot reason with religious fanatics.
Without nukes, the religious fanatics are powerless.
I go back to what I said earlier. Give them a 24 hour warning, then take it all out.
The rest of the World will thank us.

i think that's a line Trump won't cross and has already told Israel that. as far as the political situation you are correct the result is the same, they're all radical clerics so all you'd get is another Khamenei. it would also slow down getting an agreement even if it's a short time for a new leader comes to power. ironically .. given these guys are clerics would they go have a conclave like we just had with the Pope? certainly they a succession plan.
it'll take 20+ years for these old hard line religious zealots to just fucking die and hopefully younger clerics won't be hateful toward Israel and the US

What a motley crew! Txdot, Texassapper, Rooster and Tiny, standing shoulder to shoulder with Bernie Sanders, Rand Paul, and Tucker Carlson on this issue. No American troops on the ground in Iran!
