Gotta love those anecdotal same-day prices

I wonder if anybody here can tell us the most and least they paid for bacon under the Biden and Trump 47 administrations ?

Seems to be some folks that know their egg purchases down to the penny, so bacon is a logical addition to that thought process.

Anybody?

There's a brand of thick cut that I picked up back I'm 2022 that was $7.49 that I just saw for $12.99

It was good, but mine's better and cheaper

Amazing stuff. Do you memorize prices, write them down, what’s the secret? What else do you track besides bacon?

Over in the egg thread some guy knew the most he ever paid for eggs under Biden. Thats 4 years of purchases and quite amazing.

I use the little rectangle in my pocket. Let's me snap pics of stuff I like.

I have well over a decade of good food and great whores on this thing.

Oh wow.

Since you snap pics of prices can you post some bacon pics to the thread? You must have a nice portfolio. I think that would really be helpful and get people in the bacon mood.

What else have you tracked? I’m guessing coffee, bread, milk and more. Or are you just a bacon guy?

I do appreciate your interest, but I'm more interested in the BEC Index.

It's really not hard to remember the most you would have paid for an item, especially if the price was extremely high. for example, I would have never paid over $4.00 for eggs and never had to choose until this year and only once, did I pay it. But, I still have all of my mental faculties. I feel sorry for you people who have trouble remember simple things. Do you at least remember the most you paid for a, car or house? But I'm off subject.

It really is that simple. There's nothing difficult about keeping track of prices, especially if you're the one paying for it.

Maybe the people who are amazed by this never have to buy things for themselves? Maybe they're living on someone else's dime? Certainly would explain a lot.

For large purchases like a home, people know what they paid.

For minor things like bacon, eggs, gasoline etc to remember the exact price down to the penny for a multi-year period I call bullshit.

HD actually didn’t say he remembered the price of bacon, he said he takes pictures of things. A little more believable.

I say post the pics of bacon and some of the other items that have been tracked. The check has been written, now cash it.

If not, I say it’s nothing more than a charade to reinforce “orange man bad”.

I can... but instead I give you this from a year ago. 7% increase YOY vs 18% now. What's the Orange Man's plan?

Lol. So, I guess by your standards, I have a photographic memory, because I have no trouble remembering prices I pay for common grocery store items. Some of us are just blessed, I suppose.

By the way, the data back up all my assertions. All of these items were cheaper a year ago than they are today. Fact.

Nice!

Go ahead and list out all of your bacon purchases down to the penny over Biden’s term.

Or are you backtracking and taking the position that “prices are higher and I’ll throw some number into the mix that fits into the range and helps my TDS feel good?”

Until you can answer the former, the default reality is the latter, which is different than the horn you’ve been tooting.

He doesn't have to. The USDA and CPI both show that bacon is more expensive. We can go back in time and see the sharp teeth on it since there has been volatility in bacon prices.

The question is... with bacon up nice and high compared to the norm, what this admin will or won't do to help make breakfast staples, such as bacon, more affordable for the avg red-blooded American

And vegans. They definitely need more bacon in their lives
