Trump appears to have another mental fumble and critics pounce: ‘He should be in an assisted living facility’

Donald Trump’s brutal month of cognitive fumbles continued on Wednesday with a stunning statement that … well, folks now seem convinced that the president either forgot what the Declaration of Independence is or never really knew what it was to begin with.
How did folks come to the conclusion?
Well, Trump spoke in the Oval Office Wednesday, fielding questions about the potential of war with Iran.
“I like to make the final decisions one second before it’s due, you know, ‘cause things change,” he said. “I mean, especially with war, things change with war. It can go from one extreme to the other.
“War’s bad,” he added. “There was no reason for this to be a war. There was no reason for Russia, Ukraine. A lot of wars, there was no reason for.’
And that is when Trump went and created a social media stir.
“You look right up there,” he said pointing at the wall where the Declaration of Indepence is displayed. “I don’t know. You see the Declaration of Independence, and I say, I wonder if you know the Civil War always seemed to me maybe that could have been solved without losing 600,000 plus people.”
The Declaration of Impendence proclaimed America’s independence from England. It led to the Revolutionary War that ran from 1775 to 1783. It had nothing to do with the Civil War, which ran from 1861 to 1865.
