Can Trump pull off the deal of the century?
Putin is coming to Alaska to talk with Trump about the war in Ukraine. Trump says he will sound out Putin and try to convince Putin that peace is better for everyone than a war that is still killing 3,000 to 5,000 people a week.
Trump got a cease fire between Iran and Israel however long it lasts.
Trump got deal done between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Rwanda and whatever damn country in Africa that they were fighting.
Can Trump come away with an understanding and take that idea to Zelensky for approval?
Can Trump get a lock on a Nobel Peace Prize to the chagrin of TDS sufferers?
Will the left acknowledge the progress being made?
That last is possibly the most difficult.

Of course he can. He’ll give Putin what he wants and claim Ukraine has to accept it or they won’t exist anymore. We’ve heard this from January to now. According to him he’s saving Ukraine by convincing them that he won’t supply them the weapons to fight if the want to continue fighting. Putin wins and Trump gets to claim that he brokered “peace”.

I hope you can talk some sense into him. He won't listen to me because I never served in the military, while I believe you have.
Ukraine's not going to push Russia back to its pre-2014 or pre-2022 borders. And the longer this drags on, the more lives will be lost. The damage to the economy of Ukraine is horrendous as well.
Fighting the war to the last Ukrainian is not a good option.

This was never going to end any other way...
Any casual reader of military history could have predicted it and they could have predicted the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well. But our Glorious Democrat leadership has never allowed reality to impinge upon their policies.

... I do agree with S-R, Tiny, and 'Sapper on this issue.
Ukraine and Zelinskyy surely believe the war (and the money $$$)
can go on Forever.
... Let's move the situation along and get this settled.

So are we gonna let Putin have Estonia and Moldova too. I mean it's not like they can defend themselves since Russia is all powerful. Why not just carve up Eastern Europe now to prevent the unnecessary bloodshed. We can save ourselves some time and effort in advance and of course that'll stop any further wars. Since its inevitable and it's not like well support them if they actually wanted to try to defend their freedom.
Can we think of any other countries Russia should annex so we can make a lasting peace. Some of Norway maybe. Finland and Latvia can give up some territory as well to appease Russia.

Pull out a map.. and see if you can explain why a Russian might feel that Ukraine is of strategic import to them and why Estonia and Moldava may not be.
Estonia is already a part of NATO and so any attack there is an article 5 act of war for NATO members.
Thats SPECIFICALLY why Ukraine was attacked... because of all the noise about them becoming a part of NATO.... which Russia has said was off the table since the 90s....
Doesn't matter, you can't be bothered to know the history or understand the Russian point of view.... you know only what you have been told to believe.

Uh huh. Putin wants to remake the old Soviet Union. The NATO claims are a pretext. Taking Ukraine doesn’t give him any more buffer against NATO as not taking it. I understand that you get your information from RT and other sources so I’ll forgive your propaganda. Ukraine was nowhere near even consideration to become part of NATO, much less admission. It does however have natural resources Putin covets so that’s the real reason it was invaded, along with the need for a warm water port in the taking of Crimea. Russia and Ukraine have been at war for decades, he just finally decided to make a full invasion (which he thought he’d complete in weeks but failed).
Trump has already proven that we won’t abide our Art 5 commitment to Estonia. For the same reasons that he’s going to force Ukraine's appeasement now. Once we accept Ukrainian becoming a vassal state like Belarus, which will happen once this war is ”ended” and a new government put into place, Putin will gobble up the rest of the little states. Or they’ll go voluntarily knowing that they aren’t going to be protected.
This also tells China that “if they can take Taiwan”, they can have it. There’s no NATO to stop that.

Estonia. and how did Trump betray poor little NATO member Estonia?
your take on Russia is classic neocon. "Putin is a Madman! Putin wants to take over the World! We must stop the Russian Madman!!"
bahahhaaaaaaa
other than neocon rhetoric what proves your point that Putin wants all of the former USSR back and western Europe?

Estonia is not part of this discussion (moderator take note). The point is to end the killing and that comes with a cost to both Putin and Zelensky. After squandering a fortune Putin is NOT going to get what he wanted. Zelensky is not going to get all the conquered territory back. Maybe some if it has no strategic or economic value. Now we have some insiders saying that forces are at work to sabotage this submit before it happens. Saw John Bolton on CNN saying this means nothing. Admit it, the man loves war and killing just like Hillary.
Still, the most.difficult hurdle is to be acknowledged by democrats for doing something for humanity.

Of course nothing is going to happen. Putin has no respect for Trump and he is stubborn. For Putin to be happy, Zelensky would have to concede to an extent that would be so one-sided in Putin's favor that a deal is not even a realistic option...wait, my bad, I forgot that Trump the deal maker will end it on Day 1. That changes everything! LOL

Sadly, I don’t see it ending. That’s the terrible part. There’s basically three possible outcomes: Either the Ukrainians win, which I give a 15 percent probability; the Russians win, which I give another 15 percent probability; and the most likely scenario is that it just goes on and on and on. And that I would give a 70 percent probability.
so there you have it! do nothing and let Vlad die. War over. easy!
