It is not clear to me that Presidenty Trump, or any president, can take over the DC police or any other government function of the city.

Can he? Is that possible under statute or constitutional law ?

I mean, the Guard was not deployed for the Jan 6th brouhaha despite the efforts of then President Trump . . .so WTF?
