Newsmax Settles Dominion Lawsuit

NewsMax settles its suit with Dominion regarding lies about the 2020 election. Did Dominion pay NewsMax or the other way around? Some on this site claimed that Dominion and Fox were telling the truth when they made bogus claims about Trump’s win and Dominion’s complicity in cheating Trump in 2020. They stated over and again how discovery would prove that Trump’s election lies were true.

As usual, Trumpys duped again. The election liar again shown to be Trump and the right wing media machine that continuously lies to the Trumpys and right wing gullible idiots.

Come on 1b1, don't you know that NewsWack paid $67m and Fox paid $787.5m because they are credible news sources and the election really was rigged? Those settlements were forced by Obama and Biden!

by 3 million votes Harris was light by 6 million voters in the same 2024 election compared to Biden in 2020.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis, who oversaw both the Fox and Newsmax cases, had already ruled that Newsmax defamed Dominion by broadcasting falsehoods about the Denver-based company and its voting equipment. However, Davis left open the question of whether the network acted with "actual malice" and how much Dominion should be awarded. The settlement ended the case before a jury could decide damages.

Run before you really get wiped out with damages...settle for almost half a years total revenue. That's revenue not profit for those that struggle with math.

Well we all knew those election claims by Trump and Trumpys were lies. Well almost everyone knew that. Dominion did pretty well out of this deal. Nearly a Billion pretty much free dollars that isn’t considered revenue is great for the shareholders.

Don't forget that $67m is in addition to the $40m that NewsWack had to pay Smartmatic in that defamation settlement last year. Fox hasn't settled yet with Smartmatic, but I assume they will before they go to trial... but hey, at least their bullshit election lies are accurate, right MAGA sheep? NewsWack just likes to settle two defamation suits for a combined $100m+ that keeps their net profits in the red for years because they are charitable.

Newsmax last year settled a defamation case brought by another voting systems company, Smartmatic USA, in the wake of the 2020 election. Information filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showed Newsmax was due to pay Smartmatic the second half of that $40 million payout by the end of June 2025.

Smartmatic is still pursuing a $2.7 billion defamation suit against Fox News in New York state court. That case, if it goes to trial, could be heard by a jury in 2026.
