And if you think that doesn't work the same way in the other direction, you are sadly mistaken. trump has driven millions away from the Republican party.

You’re like a dog on a bone when it comes to adding more judges.

“On September 2, 2025, the Associated Press (AP) reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved sending up to 600 military lawyers to the Justice Department to serve as temporary immigration judges, according to a memo dated August 27, 2025. The deployment aims to address a backlog of approximately 3.5 million immigration cases”

20ish years you were surely a lib and a Dem. Believe it or not I tapped danced all around the middle myself even though I didn’t pay much attention to politics.

There’s videos of Clinton, Obama, Schumer talking about border enforcement, deportations, etc. And surely you agreed with those guys.

You Dems have moved sooooo far left in 2 decades the party isn’t recognizable. Open borders I say.

The saddest part is the average wackadoodle Dem can’t think for themselves and went along for the ride. It’s like being a programmable drone.

Schumer is MAGA and a far right racist! But you gullible fucks keep running to the left and don’t want deportations.

Chuck Schumer: "The number one reason people come to the US illegally is to defraud systems like social security and I want to stop it."

600 is a pittance in what needs to be a massive surge

Yes, we need immigrants, but we need to have the ability to decide which ones to accept, not just fling open the borders.

The ones accepted need to be able to speak, read and write English and enrich our country in a tangible way if they want citizenship.

Just because there is a long wait for hearings doesn't give anyone the right to enter or overstay illegally. If there is too long a line at the grocery store, can I just walk out with my groceries without paying? The added judges and the fact that there are virtually no crossings to add to the backlog should help expedite the hearings.

While I believe that we would all like to see the worst go first, you can't ignore other illegals you find just because they're not the worst.

I agree with most of this but be aware that Trump has and is currently removing judges that his administration believes are disloyal or not onboard the Trump Train.

He posted this on social media.

https://www.npr.org/2025/04/22/nx-s1...n-judges-fired
“We cannot give everyone a trial, because to do so would take, without exaggeration, 200 years," Trump posted on social media on Monday. "We would need hundreds of thousands of trials for the hundreds of thousands of Illegals we are sending out of the Country. Such a thing is not possible to do."

Not to mention that when appropriating funds for immigration enforcement in the OBBBA they allocated a minuscule sum for the judicial process and huge sums for the enforcement system. I have real doubts that the judicial side of the process was considered at all. Every thing I’ve read about the issue suggests that they wanted to make the process as extra judicial as possible.

https://www.americanimmigrationcounc...rder-security/

H.R. 1 includes funding for the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR)—which oversees the country’s immigration court system—as an allowable expense under a lump sum of $3.3 billion to the Department of Justice (DOJ). It also limits the number of immigration judges to 800 starting on November 1, 2028. Given this limitation and that EOIR currently has about 700 immigration judges, only a portion of total is likely to be allocated to EOIR.

By providing only a relatively small additional sum to the immigration courts while significantly increasing funding for immigration arrests and detention, H.R. 1 will dramatically increase already high immigration court case backlogs particularly for people held in detention facilities. The bill’s cap on the number of immigration judges at 800 will severely restrict progress on backlog reduction. Immigrants held in detention could be forced to wait months between every hearing while immigrants proceeding in their cases outside of detention would face even longer wait times as judges were reassigned to detained dockets.

In Conclusion: The Trump administration is actively attempting to enforce an extrajudicial system for deporting anyone that they want to at anytime and for any reason. That’s my opinion at least.

Accurate. Though ballooning the backlog is a classic Millerism. He wants that backlog high as a disincentive for legal immigrants because he want to minimize all immigration.

It's one of the unspoken truths that Lusty never bothered to pick up on and J buries his head to avoid.

... Hee Hee! ... ...

... The Republican party has ADDED near FIVE (5) MILLION
voters to their rolls in recent years! ...

... So, it would seem that President Trump AND the
deportations have NOT done as you mention...

“Yes, you can move too far left. And when you do, you wind up pushing the people in the middle to the right”

I'd say that Maher represents about 70-80% of the Lefts mindset. The extremes from either party end up pushing the remainder to the middle. Left or Right leaning folks find that extremism isn't popular unless you are an anarchist or nihilist.

Truth is our "duly elected" officials are pretty obtuse to the lives of real life americans. When they are getting booed out of their respective town halls, or told that you're out of touch- or that a bill is bullshit, etc. -that's a pretty good indicator of being a lemming vs. a congressman.

It's laughable that a lot of the current folks on both sides will likely be blown out in the next election season for either following the extremes too closely without the ability to actual get anything done.

The deportations are NOT having a positive impact on americans currently. Tell me how you're better off locally since deportations started, or how Alligator Alcatraz was started, or any of the people have been moved to confinement?

Serious question on the impact it's had to anyone here- please share.

Most people might like the idea of illegals being tossed, but how does it really affect you personally?

I would think that most of us have seen groceries go up, and partly due to shrinkage in produce, and imported goods, due to lost labor. That's a direct impact to everyone. Some here say- "So what- I'd rather pay more and boot out more". Kinda like cutting off your nose to spite your face mentality. IF we start seeing more volatility-(likely) in goods, food, housing, and investments- then it's all going to affect EVERYONE in much bigger ways.

Especially if you are either on a limited fixed income, or just in the building stage of your life investing etc.

I'm not advocating for open borders or illegals to be here, but I also don't see how Homan is actually getting the right people out? So far, it doesn't seem to be getting the bad guys out, but rather the folks who want to do work- and likely the work AMERICANs don't want to do.

Deportations is just red meat today for team red.

It's not having a tangible positive impact that i've seen.

What good is the 100 notches??? Or the impact??
the Trebuchet would be hilarious however- at least it would have an audience.

It’s a matter of principle. Lots of things don’t affect people personally, that doesn’t make them ok. Sometimes you’ve even gotta support things that affect you negatively, higher priced ag products when their slave labor goes away for example, because it’s the right thing to do.
