I did. It's gruesome and I've seen some pretty graphic things. It seems like the shooter was fairly close based on the impact and gunshot sound. But I had a difficult time seeing the direction from the way Kirk moves post being hit. It looks like the initial impact may have been on his right side or from the front since he only moves slightly to his left. The bullet did tremendous damage to soft tissue. If you're squeamish don't look at the unedited version. A very large loss of blood from his neck area. It makes me sad to see life snuffed out in a snap of the finger. I study the effects of firearm wounds and the damage the projectile does or lack of damage depending.

It began when I first started to hunt, for ethical reasons, and it continued as the technology always is changing.

Any rifle cartridge would have killed him where he was shot, even a 22.

I am by no means a trained sniper, but anyone with experience at all could have made that shot.

Honestly, I could have used a flintlock rifle.

Point being, a determined fool could easily do it again.

The shot was a miss, a foot off from where a trained sniper aims. A below average military trained shooter could’ve have hit center mass blindfolded from that distance. This was an amateur. From the looks of him in the pic the fbi put out he’d have about 0% chance of getting through BCT, skinny little fraction of a man.

If this a trans or gay shooter I am changing my mind on whether they should be treated as mentally ill, when it comes to purchasing dangerous weapons.

I dont understand that, if Im going to see a public figure, I'd expect to be checked for weapons.

EVERY gun owner knows that.

It's one reason I'd likely avoid places where I have to disarm.

This was not a case of a nihilistic suicidal mass killer. This was planned and executed well enough for the shooter to get away. HDGristle is right. Something seems amiss.

I don’t know the motivation of the assassin. For all I know the hit was paid for and the ant-fascist and transgender messages are there just to mislead the investigation.

My point is unless they catch the killer we may never know the truth. Maybe Kirk was boning some guys wife and this is an attempt at revenge by the husband or someone has a life insurance policy they want to collect on. Jealousy and greed are classic motivations for murder. Why don’t we let the investigation continue for a while before we start speculating.
