Nexstar says no Kimmel.

Not a big surprise since Nexstar/Tegna merger/buyout will require FCC to change their station ownership regulations. Thus Nexstar is more than willing to comply with Brendan Carr's threats, uh, suggestions.

The FCC's 39% rule is a regulation that limits a single entity from owning TV stations that collectively reach more than 39% of U.S. television households, aiming to prevent media dominance.

If the Nexstar/Tegna deal is completed, the combined company will have a total of 265 television stations in 44 states and the District of Columbia, representing 80% of U.S. television households.

Sure.

I bet Trump did...
I can't believe ABC lied to our President....or maybe they didn't.

I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his “talent” was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.

Kimmel’s show to return Tuesday, but Sinclair will continue preemption

https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/22/enter...x-newtab-en-us

if Sinclair was worried about mergers and the FCC why would they continue to not broadcast his show? in 38 markets in the US. it is ABC's call to put him back on the air. Sinclair can still refuse until Kimmel meets their demands and one is Kimmel must make a public apology.

remember valued posters Kimmel got himself in this mess and it's his ass got to get out of it.

here is what's gonna happen tomorrow and i might watch it for the amusement. ABC and Kimmel have talked and agree he'll make some sort of apology "good intend bad phrasing" type statement. ABC wouldn't be letting him back without it at this point. Book it, Dano!

or Kimmel can go rouge nuclear and triple down and take his 50 million and go away.

BAHHAAHAAAAAA

You answer your own question about not broadcasting and worry. It was ABC call to do so. Maybe, just maybe, ABC got a weeie bit o' backlash from their action. And it was 360 political bitchslap to the corporate face. Seems others believe in 2nd Amendment applies to *ALL* people of these United States. That just might be something that made them change their minds. I'd discount that little tidbid of what heated the google searchbar to a redhot hue.

You gotta help me/us out here. Could you specifically quote the apology old jimmy gave. I seemed to have missed the groveling to the melange one.

And valued posters will recognize the problem that jimmy has illuminated. There is an issue with big networks (I did not anything about the news departments here) and that is they are like donny: they showed they placed a higher value to the almighty dollar than they do the 2nd Amendment. That is the mess Jimmy exposed.

So again, can you post that apology for us. I seemed to have missed it.

...or did he go rogue? I guess we'll find out tonight if he is on air.

Which is the right of that big carrier to do so.

It's a business reason why they chose to put his show back on the air. However, his show won't be seen in some cities. Even though he may have pissed off some people, his show get's enough ratings to justify putting the show back on the air.

What? You would challenge that paragon of truth Vice President JD Vance?
Quote:
“to the extent that he’s not back on the air, it’s because he’s not funny and has terrible ratings.”
And FCC Chair Brendan Carr?

Jimmy Kimmel is in the situation that he is in because of his ratings
And, even worse, you would challenge the truthfulness of our dear leader, uh, President?

Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings were plummeting before ABC suspended him for Charlie Kirk comments

https://nypost.com/2025/09/18/media/...kirk-comments/

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show was bleeding viewers before Disney-owned ABC pulled the plug and suspended him for his comments on Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Nielsen data showed sharp summer declines and a year-long slide that leaves him trailing late-night rivals such as Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld and CBS star Stephen Colbert.

According to monthly Nielsen figures, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” dropped to just 1.1 million total viewers in August 2025, down 43% from January’s 1.95 million. His August household rating of 0.35 marked the weakest showing of the year.

Regardless at what happened in the past Kimmel is now seen as the victim of the president's bullying and a protector of free speech.

to you. to me and Nexstar and Sinclair he made an ill advised inference that the facts had already shown not true. facts put out Sunday before Kimmel ran his libtard mouth off.

"anything but their own" should be on Jimmy gravestone

Waco, do you think the folks running Walt Disney would put Kimmel's show back on the air if his show was LOSING money? I don't think so. They take shows off the air when they no longer can make a profit.
