Deposits and OF everywhere

Either more providers are asking for deposits or there are more deposit scammers out there. I used to think tryst was a reliable place but that now seems to be loaded with either OF ads or profiles needing a deposit. It also seems like most of the tryst profiles looking for a deposit have multiple "home" cities. I know there are legit providers that ask for a deposit and that's fine. For me it just always feels like sending money into the abyss.

Virtual does nothing for me so OF is not for me. But it must be a big market because the ads and scams are everywhere including every dating sub on Reddit.

I've tried the sugar sites and from my experience and other posts on this site that too seems to be expensive before even meeting a good SB that checks all the boxes.

Are you seeing the same or am I looking in the wrong places?

It’s a dying industry. With, like you said, OF and online content, there’s no need for the ladies to actually meet with us. Even the really good places , like Toronto, which is still ok, is nowhere near what it used to be.

When I see a new ad, I immediately scroll to the bottom to check for deposit requirements. If they require a deposit, I don’t bother looking at the rest of the ad.

One lady who mentioned the deposit after exchanging a few messages said “How will I know you’ll show up if you don’t pay a deposit?” My reply was “How do I know YOU’LL show up if I DO pay a deposit?”

No, not all deposits are scams (see my recent review). All of them are risks. Some scams are easy to spot, some are not. I rarely pay deposits, but when I do I see it as a long-shot bet: I will likely lose but if I win I will win big. If I lose I shrug it off, just like the lottery, but if I win then I get an unforgettable night like I had last night. Very worth the risk.

Like anything else, ya pays ya money and ya takes ya chances.

I know for some it can seem scammy, but for most providers esp. those who are above a certain price point deposit is non negotiable. I can't book a 5* hotel somewhere and travel without the assurance that those fees are covered. Long shot only if you're booking someone entirely new, with no online presence and little or no reviews.

Things change for sure. Sometimes better. Sometimes worse.

I've essentially given up on "dates" even though I know there are still some good providers out there (though the pickings in ROC are far and few between). But the number of no responses I've gotten, even from reputable providers, or demands I can't meet, it's just easier to rely on AMPs. Sure, sometimes they are a crap shoot. But more often than not, in fact almost every time, I've gotten a great -- even at times full GFE -- full service experience from AMPs. No matter which part of the country I'm in.

For lots of reasons, including ease of scheduling, I've only done AMPs ever since the pandemic.
