100% your right to look at it that way. However, that’s a commodity view: one MT can be replaced with the next. I, OTOH, have the view that each MT is unique and I support those I prefer with my loyalty and by providing the rate they ask (implied or explicit). Is there a price point at which I’m no longer indifferent? Of course. But it has been my experience that the overwhelming majority of MT’s are quite fair to the point of being generous when you merely pay the rate without negotiation. Again, YMMV.
I would also add that this approach and calculation does not translate well into the Indy world or into the AAMP sector in my experience.
