Ah, Syria. Ol' Hafez did such a good job playing international powers off with such a weak hand. Loved how he use to meet every new Secretary of State. Just like Tito, there can be an upside having a good dictator, not saying he was one.

Waiting for another drug boat attack. Seems like Donny and Petey have blown off the war on drugs. They’re in the business of hijacking oil tankers now.

Renaming the Department of Defense the Department of War could cost U.S. taxpayers as much as $125 million depending on how broadly and quickly the change is made, according to an analysis released Wednesday from the Congressional Budget Office.

Just a drop in the bucket...

The withdrawals, on top of your TDS, must be very stressful right now. Maybe you should check into an institution with nice people who can help you get the help you need.

You got it.

The U.S. military said Friday that it has carried out a deadly strike on a vessel accused of trafficking drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean, the first known attack since the raid that captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro earlier this month.

U.S. Southern Command said on social media that the boat was “engaged in narco-trafficking operations” and that the strike killed two people and left one survivor. It said it notified the Coast Guard to launch search and rescue operations for that person.

And like the Kennedy Center name change, it's really just window dressing---the next President could just rebrand the offices and letterhead because the legal name hasn't changed. Only Congress can do that. Any contracts or treaties have to be signed as Department of Defense.

Another 'drug boat' sinking.
The U.S. military said Thursday that it has carried out another deadly strike on a vessel accused of trafficking drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

U.S. Southern Command said on social media that the boat “was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations.” It said the strike killed two people. A video linked to the post shows a boat moving through the water before exploding in flames.

Seeing that no chain of evidence was even attempted, this could be a way to stop people trying to get out of Venezula. All Right for protecting borders! Yea!

Got another one.
Count now up to 133 people in at least 38 attacks
The U.S. military says it has carried out another deadly strike on a vessel accused of trafficking drugs in the Caribbean Sea

Quote:
U.S. Southern Command said on social media that the boat “was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations.” It said the strike killed three people. A video linked to the post shows a boat moving through the water before exploding in flames.

Friday’s attack raises the death toll from the Trump administration’s strikes on alleged drug boats to 133 people in at least 38 attacks carried out since early September in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared last week that “some top cartel drug-traffickers” in the region “have decided to cease all narcotics operations INDEFINITELY due to recent (highly effective) kinetic strikes in the Caribbean.” However, Hegseth did not provide any details or information to back up this claim, made in a post on his personal account on social media.

Hegseth is becoming irrelevant in Trump’s inner ring around the collar.

He needed to kill some folks to get back into good graces.

New Congress can impeach and remove cabinet members, yes?

Three more

Quote:
The U.S. military blew up three alleged drug-trafficking boats, two in the Eastern Pacific and one in the Caribbean, on Monday, killing 11 people.

The U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) said the military killed eight male “narco-terrorists” in the eastern Pacific, four in the first boat strike attack and another four in the second vessel. Three “narco-terrorists” were killed in the third boat that was transiting in the Caribbean, according to Southcom.

Since Sept. 2, the U.S. military has conducted at least 42 strikes and has killed at least 144 people it says are “narco-terrorists” in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific. The Trump administration has argued it is neutralizing drug-trafficking vessels, thus curbing the flow of illicit narcotics in the region.
Meanwhile
Quote:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to oust one of his top advisers, Col. David Butler, who was also a spokesperson for Gen. Mark Milley when he was the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Hegseth directed Driscoll, who is currently in Switzerland as part of the U.S. delegation negotiating to end the war in Ukraine, to remove Butler last week at the Pentagon, according to multiple news outlets. Butler was Driscoll’s spokesperson and was in line to receive his first star.
