What the hell are you even talking about? Yes, Dallas is in Texas but each city has it's own governing body that makes decisions that affect the local population. If you want free public transit, go petition the democrat controlled Dallas City Council and DART. Has nothing to do with the state or the fact that it swings red in national elections.

A) Fund your own Damn Childcare. You produced the children, now care for them. I am not understanding why that is such a hard concept for people to grasp. You can't shirk your responsibilities after you had all the fun.
B) Fund your own transportation! Which is what most people do, IE buy a car, which is what most people prefer to do, drive there own car, instead of being stuck on a bus or subway with some dipshit hippy telling everyone how they should pay for there irresponsible lifestyle. And if so many people enjoy public transportation, then there would be public transit companies all over the place.
Now there is an argument to be made that it should be easy and cheap and useful for low income people and folks who want to save money. To bad DART is the only legal entity in DFW allowed to operate mass transit. Back in the day, minorities and other operate there own transit lines much more efficiently, and there are private mass transit companies that still operate, they just can't do any of the short intercities routes because DART cornered the market (by using political connections ... not because they are the best option).
C) Free education is a SHAM. From kindergarden all the way up to grad school. How many people flunk out of highschool? How many people can barely read or write even after getting into college.
Education is the most personal service you can get. You either want it or you don't (or you think you don't). And if you want it, there is nothing in heaven and earth that will keep you from getting it, including paying tuition. I suggest to @Billgoat, get a life dipshit, yeah the Republicans here in Texas have some problems, but its better then the mess left by Democrats in New York or California.

Yeah and that might be important except the city of Dallas operates under a council-manager form of government. The mayor's role is mostly ceremonial. The city council sets the policies and the city manager implements them. The mayor is a figurehead. Even under another form of government, the mayor's party affiliation means diddly squat. The city of Dallas is a blue city because the residents vote for democrats in every election.
