Markets down over 600 points.
More than that. YOWTCH.

And Trump continues to threaten, belittle and fiddle as the fucking world catches fire.

Mentally ill.

Since Donald Trump took office, a noticeable shift has occurred in defense procurement strategies among European countries, favoring European-made weapons systems over those from the United States. This shift has been largely driven by a combination of geopolitical concerns, changes in U.S. foreign policy, and a push for greater European defense independence.

Europe's $860 billion defense plan freezes out US contractors.

American defense contractors, who’ve dominated European military sales for decades, will largely be shut out of the biggest spending surge since the Cold War.

Germany’s new military procurement plan shows 154 major defense purchases planned through 2026, with only 8% going to U.S. suppliers — a dramatic shift from recent years when Berlin was one of Washington’s biggest defense buyers.

That's a wall being built. And American jobs being lost will be but one result.

In Greenland?

https://www.engineerlive.com/content...ning-greenland
Quote:
Despite its mineral wealth, Greenland has no commercial rare-earth mining as of January 2026. Development has stalled due to several barriers, including the 2021 uranium mining ban that halted the Kvanefjeld project, harsh Arctic conditions, limited infrastructure, and environmental concerns from local communities.

In June 2025, the US Export-Import Bank sent a letter of interest to Critical Metals Corp for a $120 million loan to fund the Tanbreez rare-earth mine in Greenland. If approved, this would be the Trump administration’s first overseas mining investment.

In June 2025, the EU designated the Amitsoq graphite project in Greenland as a Strategic Project under its Critical Raw Materials Act, highlighting its importance to Europe’s supply chain resilience.
OTOH
Quote:
Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Michael Bloomberg have invested in Greenland, drawn by its critical mineral reserves and growing geopolitical importance, according to Forbes.

Ronald Lauder, heir to the Estée Lauder fortune, is also an investor. According to John Bolton, former White House national security adviser, Lauder first proposed the US acquisition of Greenland during Trump’s first term.

Yes in Greenland.
Some of your clips even state that.
Current activity is mostly southern Greenland, but exploration has gone north last couple years due to warmer weather. It has been common for everything in north to shut down a few months every winter, but this appears to be changing.

The concept of political control over an areas resources has caused wars for thousands of years.

Who/what companies are actually commercially mining 'strategic minerals' in Greenland...not MOAs or 'in development'?

Seems irrelevant...unless Trump is, like Venezuela, misleading us about the true goals of Greenland conquest.

Current operating mines are:
Amaroq's gold mine at Nalunaq.
Lumina's anorthosite mine at White Mtn.
Folks I know are scheduling supply ships and ore carriers for that.

Greenland Resourses received a 30 yr license in June 25 for Molybdenum at Malmbjerg and is on the ground constructing that facility.
The Europeans have a Graphite facility at Amitsoq under construction funded by Denmark that will supply European EV activity.
Critical Metals facility at Tanbreez plans to start shipping ore in 2028.

Some speculate that Trump is already to late to try corner the market on this activity.

Lumina's anorthosite mine at Kangerlussuaq.

On average, "it takes 16 years to develop a mine, right from the first idea to the actual mine," Naaja Nathanielsen, Greenland's minister responsible for natural resources, including minerals, said in June.

It took Lumina 11 years, for example, to get from exploration to production. Exploration started in 2008 and reached final production in 2019, Bent said.

Still, the mine has yet to turn a profit, Kiernan told Andersen during a follow-up call on Friday.
Amaroq's gold mine at Nalunaq.

Dec 2024
‘As Nalunaq transitions from being a cost centre to a cash generator, our focus turns to resource expansion, mine life extension, and further exploration to unlock the full mineral potential of our Greenland portfolio,’ CEO Eldur Ólafsson said in a press release.
August 2025
Amaroq Ltd on Thursday reported its first-ever revenue as commissioning work at its Nalunaq gold mine in Greenland continued to advance, with output on track to reach nameplate processing capacity by the end of the year.

You so sure about that? I work with people from all over the world...they feel pity for me because of our government. 10 years ago they wished they could live in the US...now they don't want to come here for business meetings. Live in a bubble if you want, the rest of the world doesn't.
You made a false claim.

I pointed out that your claim is false.

And this is how you respond?

I live in a border state. There is no wall going up here.

None.

Trump withdraws tariffs over Greenland.

What a buffoon. Huffing and puffing like the bully on the block.

I'd bet that big money guys with their foot already in the door told him not to screw up their exsisting deals. Which deals are rather substantial.
