Mark Bruley, the police chief of the city of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota:

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/...t-has-to-stop/

Quote:
“In Brooklyn Park, one particular officer who shared her story with me was stopped as she passed ICE going down the roadway. When they boxed her in, they demanded her paperwork, of which she’s a U.S. citizen and clearly would not have any paperwork.”

When she became concerned about the rhetoric and the way she was being treated, she pulled out her phone in an attempt to record the incident. The phone was knocked out of her hands, preventing her from recording it. The officers had their guns drawn during this interaction. And after the officer became so concerned, she was forced to identify herself as a Brooklyn Park police officer in hopes of slowing the incident and de-escalating the situation. The agents then immediately left after hearing this, making no other comments, no other apologies—just got in their vehicles and left.

I wish I could tell you that this was an isolated incident. In fact, many of the chiefs standing behind me have similar incidents with their off-duty officers. This isn’t just important because it happened to off-duty police officers. But what it did do is we know that our officers know what the Constitution is, they know what right and wrong is, and they know when people are being targeted. And that’s what they were. If it is happening to our officers, it pains me to think how many of our community members are falling victim to this every day. It has to stop.

"There's going to be arrests in the next several hours, Greta," Noem told "The Record With Greta Van Susteren." "There will be arrests tied to that, and people will be brought to justice for how they violated the law in that situation."

Here's what Tampon Tim Walz said on Dec. 23 about ICE:

"I would not put it past this administration to target midnight mass services amongst folks going to worship, because that's who they are."

Uh-oh! That didn't age well, did it?

Let's help out Tampon Tim by rephrasing:

"I would not put it past these deranged far-left anti-ICE anarchists to target services amongst folks going to worship, because that's who they are."

Fixed that for ya, Tampon!

Now your quote looks eerily prescient!!

The juxtaposition of the protesters speaking out in the church (no storming) with the video of the police officers calling out the tactics of ICE seems to pose exactly that question. Does ICE’s conduct provide justification? might be one way it frames the question.

The service was open to the public, so they were not trespassing. If you watch the interviews video, the lawyer & pastor leading the protest explains how that was a primary consideration.

To those that find this acceptable, what would you have to say if this was a crowd doing the same thing at a mosque? Or a Hindu temple?

While I'd agree with the first half of your reply the second half kinda precludes your asking "What would Jesus do?", no?

Here's one answer to that question. "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's"
Matthew 22:21

One of his representatives (Bishop of Diocese of Winona=Rochester) had this to say;

"As a resident of Minnesota and as bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, my heart is breaking over the situation in my home state. Violence, retribution, threats, protests, deep suspicion of one another, political unrest, fear—all of it swirling around all the time. May I make a modest proposal for exiting this unbearable state of affairs? The Trump Administration and ICE should limit themselves, at least for the time being, to rounding up undocumented people who have committed serious crimes. Political leaders should stop stirring up resentment against officers who are endeavoring to enforce the laws of the country. And protestors should cease interfering with the work of ICE. And everyone on all sides must stop shouting at one another and demonizing their opponents. Where we are now is untenable. There is a way out.

... WRONG.

... They can NOT walk in and SPEAK OUT in the middle
of a church service. ... They were told to LEAVE.
Not leaving is DEFIANT TRESPASS.

... LAWS surely address this type of lawbreaking.

If I'm not mistaken, the constitution establishes that we have a right to "peacefully assemble". This is not a peaceful assembly.
Nor is impeding ICE officers, or battering them, or ramming them or blocking public roads for that matter.

This country was founded on division between church and state.each needs to stay OUTof the others turf.

As a suggestion, if a church wants to become involved in politics, they should lose the tax exemption they have been gifted.

What law are they breaking by speaking out? If you watch the interviews, you will find that they sat through the entire service, praying and singing hymns along with the rest of the congregation, before challenging the minister when he prayed that the church be chastened. The leader of the protest saw that as a cue to ensure that chastening was honest.

Where do you find evidence they were asked to leave? I can't find that in any of the posted sources. I do see that the minister said, "Shame. Shame." I don't see any video showing him asking them to leave (maybe I missed it?), and none of the sources posted here claim that. I don't doubt it might have happened. Did it?

Lawbreaking only occurs when laws address the action. Axiomatic. The process that holds people accountable for lawbreaking requires evidence.
And, I can't help but read your statement--"LAWS surely address this type of lawbreaking."--as putting the cart before the horse: 'I find this sort of action abhorrent, so there must be laws that forbid it.'

There is a way out. But it requires that ICE leaves, reassess, and then comes back with out the aggressive behavior and after enough time to allow the tension to subside.

Somehow I don’t think that the Trump administration is going to do that.
