Default Why Are Republicans OK With Trump Administration Blatantly Lying About EVERYTHING

We know that Trump and his people love to lie and gaslight. We also know the Trumpys and MAGA don't have the good sense to tell lies from the truth when they hear them. But it has gotten to the point of ridiculous.

The last two killings by ICE of American Citizens who were no actual threat to them and the immediate lies told by Administration Officials to justify them are so obvious that even die in the wool republicans should be able to see the shit claiming to be shineola. The claims that Pretti was some kind of terrorist or he approached ICE officers brandishing a weapon of he was violent with them are so apparently false that even a Trumpy should be able to say "Noem and Bronzino are lying" even if you disagree that he should have been there or you feel he should die because you disagree with anything he did.

The real question though is being politically right so much more important than calling out blatantly untrue statements for republicans? Are they so blinded by their tribalism that they are incapable of saying "yeah, that was a lie?"

The simplest answer is....support of FASCISM.

(I literally cannot WAIT for what comes next!)

With all these lies circulating maybe, just maybe those two killings were also lies. I would question everything.

One could question whether 'Republicans' (aka RINOs) are OK with it or only the newest political party 'MAGA'?

Right wing news seems to be a large contributor to this. As an example, MAGA watches FOX News. FOX News has more opinion content than factual news (that's not my opinion, you can look at their line-up of shows), but viewers seem to treat the opinion shows as if they are reporting the news. The opinion shows pretty much support the agenda of Trump's administration and whatever talking points are released by the administration. Where do Trump's folks generally go when they speak on television? For that matter, how many folks from FOX News now work for the administration? The opinion shows repeat the talking points over and over. What's the saying about a lie that's repeated over and over? FOX News is also the most watched news channel on cable. Here's an example from Claude AI of FOX News switching up a subject to follow the Republican party narrative:

Based on the search results, on the January 7, 2021, episode of The Five (the day immediately following the Capitol riot), Greg Gutfeld condemned the events, saying "I condemn this equally" in agreement with co-host Jesse Watters, and described what happened during the riot as "disgusting behavior." MediaiteNewsBreak
Gutfeld added that "we aren't them" and "We are better than them," emphasizing that "Republicans are always outraged by bad behavior because they consistently embrace law and order and condemn the destruction of private and public property." Media Matters for America He also noted that Republicans wouldn't bail out those who were arrested, contrasting their response with how he viewed the left's handling of other protests.
In a later discussion about January 6, Gutfeld stated that "On January 6, we became the barbarians, and we don't like that," Fox News reflecting on how the riot violated what he saw as conservative principles.
It's worth noting that the search results also show that Gutfeld's stance on January 6 appears to have shifted significantly over time, with more recent commentary downplaying the violence of that day.

Downplaying the violence is an understatement. On January 6, 2022, on the one year anniversary of the event he he called the event's framing a "phony narrative". On December 20, 2022, he described the January 6 Committee hearings as a "political vendetta" and a "show trial", and on February 14, 2024, he referred to January 6 rioters as "political prisoners".

FOX News lied so much about the 2020 election that on March 2023, Judge Eric M. Davis ruled that the claims made by Fox News hosts and guests regarding the 2020 election and Dominion were false, allowing the case to proceed to trial. FOX immediately settled for $787.5 million. They've been proved to be capable of lying.

I don't question my faith in God, but I have little faith in Government and most people that cling to it.

Democrats lied about Biden's dementia along with most news sources. Democrats have no credibility.

Sanctuary Cities are against Federal Law.

Open boarders ignore immigration laws by Democrats is the real issue.

This shoulda all been over with "they're eating the cats and dogs."

But we're close....and getting closer every time Trump or his fascist supporters open their mouths....

You can't defend these lies any more MAGA. The denial and deflection is no longer cutting it.

Stick to the topic. Read carefully: REPUBLICAN liars. Why do you want to change the subject?

Even Dumpster lying about people eating cats wasn't enough. Good point. How stupid or gullible can MAGA get? Maybe the two dead in Minnesota was a lie, right Levy?

I think MSNBC was the worst offender about defending Biden, but I can't defend them to begin with---they're mostly opinion driven and clearly lean left.

I won't deny that the downplaying of Biden's mental decline is uncomfortable for me. I certainly don't want news sources fudging anything. I can sort of understand not wanting to parade his mental health across the world stage as he wasn't doing anything egregiously wrong. His administration was competent i my opinion, luckily. I like to think that he had hours during the day where he was fully there in his mind. If he does have dementia, he was sundowning. My mom has Alzheimer's and has had it for years. When you speak with her during the day, her memory issues are readily apparent, but her mental agility remains strong. She can still reason well.

After the Biden's debate with Trump, it became clear that he struggled. When presented with undeniable evidence, Democrats admitted there was something wrong and addressed it, right or wrong. Trump and the Republicans are plain lying about issues in the face of evidence and they stick with the lies. Two US Citizens were killed by ICE agents on camera and we're told that the ones killed were at fault and the ICE agents acted appropriately. Those videos are very difficult to defend when you say the killings were legal. If the second strike on the Venezuelan speedboat in September wasn't a no-quarter kill, why won't the administration release the video that Trump promised? Tariffs are paid by minimally the US importer, but realistically, the US consumer, not foreign countries. They're a regressive tax that hits lower to middle income folks harder than upper income people.

Biden's mental capacity has set the stage, though. What do we do about Trump? He just finished his first year and there is clearly something wrong. Just look at stuff he said at Davos---he said recorded history began 67 years ago. He said half the restaurants in Washington DC closed under Biden---that's just crazy talk. It's not even close, but why bring it up to begin with? He also said that World War I ended due to the Spanish Flu. The soldiers were too sick to fight. Trump has no guardrails, though. His cabinet is a group of unqualified sycophants. Prove me wrong. They will certainly not call on the 25th amendment to remove him and after he's gone, if he is not dead by then, we will still have to worry about him because he will continue to be the Chairman of the Board of Peace until he dies or decides to resign. The Board of Peace was approved by the United Nations Security Council and only needed three signatories to go into effect. That happened at Davos. Take a look at the members.

Sanctuary cities are not against Federal law. That was tested and federal courts agreed. The Supreme Court declined to hear case presented to them.

Did Biden ignore immigration law during his term? In some cases federal courts agreed when Republican states sued. Biden complied with these rulings, though. I don't think anyone can argue that Biden had any malicious intent. He certainly didn't think he was gaining more voters. That's a red herring. Non-citizens can't vote and that's been shown over and over again. Even if any instances were found, the numbers would be too small to have any impact.

Does Trump comply with court rulings?
