Kristi is not being 'demoted', she just needs to help out with FEMA...
Leavitt added that Noem is also in charge of FEMA as the U.S. deals with a massive winter storm that swept through over the weekend.

more tidbits appear
- Bovino's reassignment appears to be mutating into a resignment
(Bovino’s access to his social media has reportedly been suspended)
- Alex Pretti's killing was recorded on body-camera videos, DHS says
(will it see light of day)
- The New York Post reported that an accidental discharge of Pretti's Sig Sauer P320 pistol, which was being held by an agent after it was taken away from him, may have made authorities believe their lives were in danger.
(maybe Trump was right...Trump said Pretti was carrying a "very dangerous gun, a dangerous and unpredictable gun," adding, "It's a gun that goes off when people don't know it.")

CNN/MSNow Fake media? What would this be?

However, the image he used bears absolutely no resemblance to the original. It appeared he used AI tools or heavy filters to “enhance” Pretti’s appearance, making him look more conventionally attractive by smoothing his skin, thickening his hair, and altering facial features.

Uh huh, sure...absolutely no resemblance to the original...judge for yourself

The Trump administration filed a legal motion Monday opposing a federal judge’s order preventing it from tampering with evidence related to Pretti’s death, The New York Times reported.
Assuming correct (I am skeptical), why would Trump administration do this?

One more MN item on ICE's plate
The chief federal judge in Minnesota says the Trump administration has failed to comply with orders to hold hearings for detained immigrants and ordered the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to appear before him Friday to explain why he shouldn’t be held in contempt.
In an order dated Monday, Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz said Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE, must appear personally in court. Schlitz took the administration to task over its handling of bond hearings for immigrants it has detained.
“This Court has been extremely patient with respondents, even though respondents decided to send thousands of agents to Minnesota to detain aliens without making any provision for dealing with the hundreds of habeas petitions and other lawsuits that were sure to result,” the judge wrote.

Okay, you need to be more careful about this shit.
As we know, the NY Post is a Murdoch-owned clickbait, lying scandal rag.
But THIS "theory" takes their garbage to an all new level.
Here's the article:
https://nypost.com/2026/01/25/us-new...perts-suggest/
And here's the summary:
The gun Pretti was carrying - a Sig Sauer P320 - is one of the most common handguns of the past 20+ years. There are millions of them out there, including in the hands of the military.
There have been allegations for several years that there is some type of defect with this gun that has caused it to fire "uncommanded"....that is, that it has fired when being handled routinely, without the trigger being depressed.
This has not really been proven, although Sig has had to pay monetary damages in at least one case.
Whatever.
Here's where the BULLSHIT is: the Post is "reporting" this "theory" that the gun "may" have gone off based on...wait for it...a post on "X" by some douche-bag lawyer.
THERE IS NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER THAT PRETTI'S GUN DISCHARGED DURING THIS EVENT.
Christ only knows how many experts have analyzed these videos by now. NONE of them have said that Pretti's gun discharged. Zero.
This is really irresponsible of the Post to report this.
But I'm sure no one is surprised.

Fair enough...I had not seen the actual article when I posted. And there was a 'touch' of sarcasm in the Trump mention.
More to illustrate the initial stories put forth by ICE/CBP/DHS are falling apart quickly

Newsmax host Greg Kelly goes to extremes....
Quote:

“In a weird way, that phone, I think, can be mistaken for a gun,” Kelly continued. “Now, [Pretti] has a gun, a rather bizarre gun, in his holster. I wanna show you something else. Put that picture down. Just real quick, right? Put it away, if you don’t mind, and take me full. I wanna show you something.”

Yes. And I was just asking that we be more careful with things like this. And I did not want someone else to react to your post with wrongly There is a TON of misinformation out there. Some are using it to be intentionally misleading. But I am certainly not accusing you of that here.

Just fucking...UGH.
The gun, which is again one of the most purchased firearms in modern times, would not look "bizarre" to anyone in Law Enforcement.
Also, Pretti never held his phone in a mother-fucking two-handed Weaver Stance!
