Less people voted in 2024 for various reasons. Trump won the popular vote by 1.5%. I don't see that as a mandate. I think in addition to the folks regretting voting for Trump, those who voted for Biden in 2020 but sat out 2024 are regretting their decision more.

Trump does seem to have a pretty bad record regarding people of color, starting with a lawsuit in the early 70s about refusing to rent to black people. He settled without admitting guilt, but was then accused of violating his agreements a few years later. This article captures that and more with references:
