Here’s a video of Pretti kicking out a tail light of an ICE vehicle and repeatedly yelling “fuck you” at agents, 11 days before he was killed.

This is not to excuse Greg Bovino, Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller. Just common sense dictates you protest peacefully and calmly around heavily armed men. And you don’t bring a pistol. What good did he think a hand gun would do anyway?

Of course not. Do you believe Mahatma Gandhi or Jesus would bring a pistol to a protest? The older, wiser Martin Luther King, Jr. publicly rejected carrying and using firearms. He believed nonviolence had to be absolute.

Pretti otherwise made poor decisions, 11 days prior to his death, and on the day he died when he inserted himself between armed CBP agents and a woman they were trying to restrain. That kind of poor judgment may just catch up to you eventually, and in his case it did.

Think of it this way. You're happily married to a heiress. You signed a prenup. Still every once in a while you bang a hooker without a condom (BBFS). Nothing happens. Then one day you engage in CFS and BBBJ. Your date has gonorrhea bacteria lurking in her throat. You get it and take it home to wifey. She gets gonorrhea and boots your ass. No more mansion, Mercedes, King Air or vacation home in the Bahamas. You're still better off than Alex Pretti though.

As the footage circulated, credible news outlets including The Associated Press and the Minnesota Star Tribune reported a spokesperson for Pretti's family and its lawyer Steve Sleicher confirmed the footage's authenticity. They said it shows Pretti. There was no indication of those reports being inaccurate or insufficiently vetted.

The release of this video footage just raises more questions for me. Like why wasn’t he arrested in the first place? Did this confrontation have anything to do with bringing armed during the fatal shooting? Did any of the ICE agents involved in the shooting have prior contact with Alex Pretti?

In any event I would say it’s a very bad idea to bring a gun to a protest. But then again I’m also prone to saying we need to reform the 2nd amendment so that we can make some common sense laws about gun restrictions and gun ownership.

But then we have events like the Boston Tea Party.

People have their limits. Anyone will resort to violence when pushed to them.

The Trump Admin understands this fully.

And they have manipulated BOTH their opponents and their supporters in regards to this
.

Good, her wife, and Pretti felt like they were standing for something. NONE of them expected they would die for the pitiful reasons that are claimed.

I'm sure that we will again hear from the "they got what they asked for" and "they shouldn't have carried a gun" folks. But still...these shootings were absurd. And criminal. Defending them is immoral.

Gentlemen, If you're going to try to stick it to the Man, there are two ways to do it. One is through nonviolent protest. This ultimately succeeded in dismantling the legal architecture of discrimination in the South. And bringing independence to India. King's and Gandhi's followers for the most part didn't yell obscenities and get in the face of authorities.

Rooster provides a good example of the second way, with the Boston Tea Party. Organize and have a plan. In 21st century America though that's really hard to pull off. Which leaves you with nonviolent protest.

I haven't made any partisan statements in this thread, unless you view laying the blame for this at the feet of Greg Bovino, Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller as partisan. I'm just saying people shouldn't be dumb asses. I don't know about Austin or New York, but if you go around where I live cursing and impeding LE or any other armed individuals, it's going to catch up with you.

TxDot, Yes, if he'd spent the night in jail after busting the tail light, he probably wouldn't be dead today. I don't know whether to blame that on the Minnesota politicians and police, who aren't cooperating with the Feds, or DHS for creating this mess in the first place. Probably both.

So, even though you deny it, your own words say different. You continue to allude that Pretti was on a retaliation list by ICE, who then executed him.

No, that’s your theory. Could one or more of the agents present when he died remembered him from an earlier incident(s)? That’s possible. There’s also this,

https://newrepublic.com/post/205779/...se-protesters?

Pretti very well may be on the database. However I doubt most agents saw Pretti’s photo there or anywhere else, although I could be wrong

Was he on a retaliation list? Did a retaliation list exist? Very, very unlikely IMO. Conspiracy theories like yours usually turn out wrong.

Nice job of selective quoting btw.
