Changing Views on Confronting Law Enforcement

There is a thread on this forum on the events of Jan th, 2020. It is a long thread. The subject of protester confrontations with Capitol police is a prominent sub-topic there.

Similar confrontations withal enforcement personnel are in the news again every day now. But there has been shift in the coverage by leftist news outlets and the progressive left in general.

It has been abetted that the actions of the Capitol Police on 1-1-'20 were just and the protesters unjust. I would note here that the only death in the Capitol Building on that day was a protester shot by an LEO. nThis act has been and continues to be vi=gerously supported by the left .

But the left today vigorously supports armed confrontation by protesters against Federal law enforcement. And they decry any strong resistance from these officers. Liberal media outlets, progressive public officials and leftist agitators openly now advocate for what amounts to armed insurrection.

What a shift in viewpoint from only a few years ago.

You will never convince anybody but yourself that Jan 6 was the same as the anti-ICE protests or even less violent because of the body count.

You take two totally different situations and try desperately to make them equate. You can’t. Two different situations, completely different.

January 6th was an insurrection, and anyone who ransacked the interior of the Capitol was guilty. The woman who got shot was trying to break through a barricaded door to get at our elected Congressional authorities.

Minnesota was two people who were gunned down for no reason other than panic and mis-training.

If anyone, regardless of political affiliation draws any kind of weapon on duly authorized law enforcement, they get what they deserve.

No one with credibility or intelligence believes in supporting armed confrontation with law enforcement.

Your ridiculously inconsistent positions are so typical.

The folks on Jan 6 were actually attacking the police with piles, bear spray, riot gear, etc in order to breach the capitol to stop congress feol performing their duties. The people being killed by ICE/CBP were filming ICE. They were not attacking them. In fact, a quick review of the videos show one lady in her vehicle with the ICE agent trying to leave the scene. The other instance was obviously ICE/CBP attacking folks filming them.

If you can't tell the difference between those situations you are an unserious person.
